Further Themester thoughts
Many employed people today view themselves as trapped by overwhelming work--a metaphorical ocean of paperwork, of numbers that need to be crunched, orders that need filling, people coming to them with an endless freight train of needs and questions... This, coupled with the fear of losing one's occupation, the source of one's livelihood, leads to the 55-hour work week and unspent vacation time, untaken benefits, and the associated health detriments.
This could be a theme for visualization: work in profusion, mountains of tasks, ever-increasing webs of unshakable responsibilities, the gears of routine chewing up one's spirit... a surreal landscape of anxieties, with an aesthetic undercurrent of physical entropy.
Physically the room could be half-choked with representations of all kinds of work--from farm tools to video equipment, stacks of blank canvas, uncut timber, squadrons of monitors and a legion of keyboards. (Where would we get all this stuff? I don't know yet.)
I like the visual idea of walking into the room and seeing a large projection of a rolling sea composed of numbers and office forms and such, which seems daunting enough in 2-D, but then putting on the Oculus you would find yourself truly floundering within that sea, nothing visible on any horizon except more work to be done...
