(The Microcosm): Visionary Music of Continental Europe 1970-1986 / Various Artists  on ‘Introspective Indigo' (a rich dark-hued navy-purplish) LP. The colored vinyl run was limited to only 500 copies worldwide.

(The Microcosm): Visionary Music of Continental Europe 1970 -1986 is the followup to Light In The Attic's ‘I Am The Center’ box set released in October of 2013. (The Microcosm): Visionary Music Of Continental Europe, 1970-1986 is the first major summary of important works from cosmically-taped in artists.  Vangelis, Ash Ra Tempel, and Popol Vuh , Bernard Xolotl, Robert Julian Horky ,Enno Velthuys and Suzanne Doucet & Christian Buehner. Interestingly, this incredible compilation includes Roedelius’ amazing “Win Der Sudwind Weht” from his 1981 Sky Records release I reviewed in this blog several months back.  

Musically magical and very eclectic, primarily instrumental, drone-y; The Microcosm requests nothing more than an open mind to consider this ambient, new age, neuzeit, prog, krautrock, cosmic, holistic stuff.

Seattle’s Light in the Attic release contains  beautiful, Indigo vinyl 3 LP and detailed liner notes booklet reviewing all of the Continental European artists included in this boxed-set compilation.   The album was conceived and produced by Mr. Douglas McGowan (Yoga Records) and liner notes contributor Jason Patrick Woodbury (a music blogger). The Microcosm features remarkable art work in the form of a cover painting by Étienne Trouvelot, and record labels by Finnish scholar Aleksanda Ionowa .
