Has been standing around outside the Exorcist barracks since dawn holding a single orchid stem. Every time he goes to knock though, he stops to check over his shoulder at the position of the sun, then lowers his fist and stands around some more.
Finally when the sun looks about right does he give the large, ornate door a couple of rousing raps only to realize a knock too late that he'd done so with the flower in his fist. Now all that's left in his hand is a dark twig and light purple petals scattered atop his boots.
He knew he should have brought that polar bear jerky instead-
