I like your thoughts on the interview and I felt hurt by the same things. Now what I'm wondering is, where do we go from here? How do we reconcile what we've heard in the interview with being a fan of these people? Or is it not possible? I'm curious how people are going to handle it

Oh goodness. I think the honest answer is that we don’t know. I think we’ll have to take some time to process and then make those decisions as we go. Moreover, I try to make a distinction between being a fan of these people and being a royal watcher. I would personally consider myself to be the latter which means that I don’t always have to like them to follow and observe the work that they do, though it is helpful/nice to be a fan of the people I’m watching. All that being said, I definitely don’t know and I think we’ll have to figure it out as we go lol

I'm sorry to hear about your job stuff, looking for a new job is the worst. I just went through similar situation where I realized my job was going to take me nowhere. It feels like the work you've been doing was meaningless and yet you still have to go there every day until you find something new. 😑 Best of luck on the search, I really hope you find something that's a step up!

Sorry it took me a while to get to this! I managed to find a proper link but honestly it doesn't say very much, not sure if you felt the same. It says they want them to be there more but doesn't define what more means - 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months? - or whether they'll be working regularly throughout as they don't usually work during school holidays much and I can't see them decamping to Scotland for weeks at a time when the kids are at school. Not wearing a kilt is a good plan - at least there's some level of attention to detail - but beyond that I think it's very much a wait and see thing. I've said before that if it was up to me I'd base myself more in Scotland and do more engagements with Scotland so I'm supportive of the idea but I think I can judge more as time goes on and we see if these plans happen or if it's another textile thing

@highqueenof I mean it’s a bit much for someone who’s quite a bit down the line and doesn’t work for the family that much.

This wedding is not much at all. Eugenie and Jack are getting a very similar wedding to Edward and Sophie. The major difference seems to be Eugenie and Jack know more people and invited them to their wedding.

Edward is further down the line of succession and he and Sophie didn’t even become full time working royals until 2002/2003!

Peter Phillips had a fairly big wedding and he isn’t even an HRH, and he’s further down the line of succession than Eugenie, too.

Also, we have no idea how much or how little Eugenie would like to work for her family. Only that she’s been told she’s not allowed to.

Which is pretty fucking shitty and I will be forever pissed off about it. The work Eugenie and Beatrice carry out on their own is excellent.

I always thought it was Me-a because like you said that's how it's supposed to be proununced but I thought that everyone including Zara and Mike said it was My-a so I assumed that i had been saying it wrong. Now I'm just confused...

There was a press release when she was born saying it was pronounce "my-ah" (like they just did with lena) but maybe it was just the royal reporters got it wrong?

Well, unless they’ve changed their minds on the pronunciation since then 😂 I mean, I don’t really follow Zara that closely but I don’t remember them ever specifying the pronunciation. There was a press release for her birth and then Mike announced her full name on twitter, right? Looking back, I think the OG source of “my-ah” is the Fail and while I can see how they’ve worded it so it could sound like Mike confirmed the pronunciation to be “my-ah”, I do just think they were talking out of their asses (which wouldn’t be anything new 🙄).
