So the hardest lesson I've had to learn this past year was to seek God and follow the path He had set out for me. His path certainly is not the path I thought I would follow, but it is the best path. Sometimes all it takes is that leap of faith to bring you exactly where you need to be. I have had many lows and extreme challenges in my life. Many of which can only be understood by living through them. While challenges still present it is the way I chose to respond that changes. I used to martyr myself, feeling like a victim of circumstances. Propelled forward in my life by the need to self sacrifice. Until I found myself depleted beyond measure. Now, I know just how far the soul can bend without breaking. Know just what I am capable of enduring and still living. Today when challenges present I draw upon all the knowledge I have gained in the roughest part of my life and I am capable of creating solutions beyond what I could have imagined before. My reponse tempered by the knowledge of what i am capable of doing in situation that are even more difficult. Work and flow Work flow Flow with work Recently I've been focusing on finding my personal balance between work and play. The flow that is unique to me and my thresholds for stress and desire for accomplishment. Using all the tools at my disposal I have been realizing that I have many internal strength at my disposal. That i am whole. The aum of my parts and experiences. That I am the person I was but the person who had made it through what was to arrive here and now. Darkness and Light We use them as metaphore so often that we confused them for literally. Light as right Dark as wrong Image after image in our society programs us to believe that this is an unalienable truth. So pervasive is this figure of speech we begin to apply it to people. Our own moral compass used as a scale to judge others. If I must be right than someone else must be wrong. To question it makes us an immoral heretic. An outcast without a clue. Yet as we discovered when Plato left the Cave of Alegory those that are still inside seek to preserve their way of life. Their way of thinking. And will do so at any cost. In my travels to Nepal I came to critical consciousness about this binary belief system. Nothing is good or bad only thinking makes it so as Shakespeare taught. A lesson echoed by the masters. If this is the case than light and dark are best interpreted as the taught by nature. Light is all the sun touches. Everything that is in our view, all that we are aware of. Dark is absence of light. The absence of our awareness. And just as when out minds go wild with creating in the dark of night, so we create in the unknown.
