That piece was based off of the romanceable princess character that we have! “The Empress” was a weird combination of a school assignment and a desire to play around with the princess’s design elements and create a character that was a little more royal and empress like. if this sends twice my bad, but i just started reading HoC and was wondering if the implied Glitra was more of a 'they had a past relationship' or if it's a 'Catra has a thing for Glimmer that only Adora can see' and if that just stays vague oooor becomes something important to the plot *eyes emoji*

👀 hm yes, so my implication was that Catra lowkey has an affection and respect for Glimmer that toes the line. Uhhh, in my perfect world, Glimmer and Catra would have had much more time to become narrative foils/bond/learn things from one another.

SO - in the HoC universe, the implication is that all happened and Catra definitely had a thing for Glimmer that tempered as they got older and stuff.

I've always been drawn to books about Hawai'i and it's former monarchy and then started having dreams about who I assumed was Pele and her youngest sister Hi'iaka only to recently find out through DNA testing about my own Hawaiian ancestry. I'm kinda still hesitant to claim my middle name Leilani since I had that middle name pre!discovery and it isn't a big percentage but still happy I found your blog. I'm also a polytheist so one half wonders if this is a sign. Hope to be cool like you 1 day

Hawaiian culture is very open for the most part (it’s when you get to things involving the gods or nature that you need to be cautious of the kapu system) so I would encourage you to look up lectures books or interviews held by native Hawaiians as well as other native Polynesians. Our cultures are very similar and intertwined so learning about the rest of Polynesia will be very helpful.

I would say to introduce yourself by your first name until you feel comfortable with it yourself, maybe ask a family member or friends to call you by it until you’re familiar with it. Also look up the meaning of leilani beyond simple translation, names hold a lot of weight and meaning in our culture so just treat your name with respect and don’t let others put it down.

As far as Pele worsphip I’m not sure where to point you to start seeing as I’m just kinda accepting her calls recently myself 😅
