A couple weeks ago, I did something I never did before, and I commissioned a piece of art (shout out to @thenovika btw), mainly to better illustrate a train of thought I was having for the past couple weeks.

Okay, so, apologizes in advance, but the explanation involves me needing to talk about Sonic comics at length again for the second time this week.

Okay, so, IDW #53. Remember this good shit?

Well, I was doing some more thinking, and upon going back an issue, I double checked the wording of how the Dynamo Cage was first revealed:

They didn’t say it was only meant for Wisps; Wisps were only brought up as an example.

So, that got me thinking: “Well, okay, what would’ve happened if someone other than Whisper got subjected to that thing?”

And you want to know who immediately jumped to mind?

So, uh… yeah.

After doing a double check to make sure it was plausible (specifically, I had to remember if her vacation had started yet by then), I then was like “Okay, so, sub out Whisper with Blaze, what happens then?”

The answer my brain came up with?

“Wait, didn’t Sonic the Comic do something similar?”

And, you know what?

Yes!

Yes, they did!

And so? With the power of a shakey understanding of lore, and Photoshop, I made this:

Then gave it and my bullshit logic over to @thenovika to make something better looking.

And the end result?

This bad boy.

Money well spent.
