SUMMER
July-August, 2016 Summer STEM Programs
School of Engineering students intern year-round at the NYU Polytechnic Center for K-12 STEM Education, serving as mentors and teachers in programs like NYC FIRST, one of the biggest Lego Robotics Leagues in the country. But the highlight of each year is our ‘Summer of STEM’ when NYU engineering students help teach thousands of NYC school students and their teachers new skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Students interested in paid internships with the Center for K-12 STEM can email resumes to [email protected] at any time. Or, stop by their office in Rogers Hall (6 Metrotech Center) and say 'hello'.
July-August, 2016 Summer Research Programs
Each summer, members of the School of Engineering faculty open up their world-class research labs to provide NYU School of Engineering, NYU CAS/SOE 3+2 and NYU Abu Dhabi rising junior and senior undergraduate students 10 weeks of hands-on research under faculty mentorship. Students work full time in the lab with their faculty mentors on research topics while also participating in weekly seminars presented by distinguished personnel. In addition, lunches where students can present the research they have completed to non-specialists and think across disciplines are held. At the end of the program, abstracts of the research are published and presented to incoming students during Undergraduate Orientation. Abstracts from previous years' programs are available.
