Goodbye : Albus Potter x Reader
Request : Could you maybe do a super extroverted slytherin who is outcasted because they are muggleborn. They find albus Severus Potter and sees that he is also an outcast so they stick together. They fall in love with each other and albus tells them this right after they are almost at the breaking pointing of the taunting. This really calms them down and they end up confessing love for each other and then kiss. Also, you have inspired me to do my own HP one-shots! So if you could check it out or request that would be absolutely amazing!
Warnings : Angst
A/N: Requests are open!!! Thank you for reading this, I love you!
Reblogging always helps! :)
"Do you remember the day we met?" Albus's green eyes bored into you and you looked into them, the tears around your eyes blurring the colors together and vaguely reshaping his features into whirls and round shapes.
You did remember. Of course you remembered the day you had met Albus. Albus Severus Potter. At first you had been astounded, you were friends with a Potter, Harry Potter's son. But that soon didn't matter.
Of course you had remembered the day. You had met your best friend that day. Your crush. The boy you perhaps might even love.
It had been the night of the sorting when it had happened. You remembered seeing him standing forlornly near the Gryffindor Common Room entrance, just out of reach of the Fat Lady.
"You too?" You had said. "My sister's a Gryffindor. I wanted to be one too.'' You looked down at your black Hogwarts Robes and the green patch that had somehow materialized onto the once blank and united Hogwarts crest. "I'm Slytherin though. Funny."
Albus had looked up at you then too. "Me too." He sighed. "My whole family's in Gryffindor. I'm the first Slytherin." He had shaken his head. "People talk already. Harry Potter's son, the Slytherin scum."
Your head had jolted up. "You're Harry Potter's son?" Your eyes were wide. "I'm sorry, I don't even know your name." You had read about Harry Potter in the wizarding textbooks. "I'm muggleborn." You admitted a little quietly. "I don't know too much about all this wizarding stuff. That's super cool, you're practically a celebrity!" He rolled his eyes a little. "It's Albus Severus." A bitter expression flicked across his face. "No, just Al." You watched as he rubbed the back of his neck. "And I'm not a celebrity. That's my dad. I'm not even popular, to be honest. That's my brother James. And the rest of the Granger-Weasley's."
You smiled a little. "Well Al, I'm (Y/N). And I don't really care for my middle name too much, so I'm not going to tell you. But we should head back up to the dorms." You pointed down towards the staircase. "Our real dorms."
Albus had laughed a little. "Maybe - maybe this year won't be too bad." His voice was tentative, as if he was trying to convince not only you, but himself as well.
You shrugged. "How can it?" You couldn't help the grin that had spread across your face. "It's a magic school after all. There's no way things can be bad."
Your eyes refocused on Albus, and you sighed. Things were bad. You had practically jinxed yourself.
You were a muggleborn. Not magic. The Slytherin's hated you for that. Except for Al and Scorpius.
"(Y/N), remember when you said things couldn't be bad?"
You shook your head. "I was wrong." You sniffed, wiping your sleeve against your runny nose.
Albus only shook his head. "(Y/N), this is a school of magic." He smiled slightly, touching your hand.
"It's a school full of shit."
Albus's eyes widened and he stiffened slightly. You had never cursed. Once. Not ever. You talked so often, and he had never heard any foul word leave your mouth.
You only shook your head. "I can't." Your voice was shaky, and you looked down at the ground. "I'm think I'm going to transfer."
Hands grasped your arm and Albus's eyes were wide and his mouth was slightly open. "What, no, you can't!" His eyes were darting all around the common room and they finally rested to lay on you. "What do you mean? There's not another wizarding school, except for maybe Beauxbatons and the ones in other countries..."
You shook your head and swallowed a sob. "To a muggle school, Al." You shut your eyes and then opened them to stare at the dully roaring fireplace. You watched as the dim glow of red and orange sparked once in the charcoal, and soon extinguished, smoke spiraling into the air. "No magic."
The fireplace fizzled, and the crackling stopped. You could hear the water lapping against the side of the castle, but even that seemed to slowly dissipate. No words had left Albus's mouth. He was silent.
You brought your hands to cover your face. "I can't. I can't deal with all this any more. The blood impurity - I thought magic was beautiful." You shook your head. "I can't go on with this, Albus. Not anymore. I - I don't think I can take it if one more person calls me a mudblood. Or ruins my things because of it. I hate it. The vandalism, the mean calls, the bullying..." Albus slowly leant into your shoulders, his head resting in the crook of your neck. His hair was soft, and you strained to look at his eyes. But they were trained on the floor. He moved his feet side to side, refusing to look up. "You, you have me. And Scorpius."
You smiled and a tear trickled down your face. "Yes. I have you - and Scorpius. But I have no other friends. I love you both. But I c-can't deal with this anymore. You understand, Al," you murmured. "Don't you?"
Albus trembled a little bit and he fiddled with his fingers. "You can't leave me."
You smiled a little, a sad little smile. "I can." You leant your head against his. "You don't need me."
There was silence for a while, and Albus finally sat up again. His voice was soft and tender, and it ignited a little spark of joy inside of you. "But I do. I do need you."
You reached over to touch his shoulder, but you let your hand falter in midair and you brought it back to your side. "You have Scorpius." He shook his head, and for a moment you saw his broken pieces. Exposed in the moonlight that streamed in through the stainglass windows that showed the translucent murky waters of the Black Lake. "You don't understand," he whispered his voice raspy. "I need you, (Y/N). I-I don't remember a time where you haven't been with me." He looked at you, and you softened.
"Al."
He shook his head. "I can't live in this place without you."
"Al, I'm sorry -"
"Breakfast." He squeezed your hand. You felt the warmth of his hand and you smiled a little.
"What about it?"
"We always have breakfast together. Me, you, and Scorpius." He bit his lip. "We have Potions together. You always make classes a little more bearable." He looked at you, with his eyes that were slowly filling with despair. "You and your sparkling personality and all your beautiful words and wonderful outlook on everything." His voice cracked, and he looked at you pleadingly. "How am I supposed to forget about all that?"
"You don't have to forget about it, silly." You reached over this time to touch his shoulder. "Just - just..." you faltered off. "I'll write."
Albus shook his head. "You'll write?" His eyebrow raised and his eyes closed a little. He didn't even try to hide the skepticism clearly shown on his face. "You'll forget." He sighed. "And then you'll forget about me." You shook your head. "My sister. I can't forget, she still goes here. When I have to write to her, I'll write to you." You turned to face him. "Besides, I could never forget about you. Ever."
"Take me with you then."
Your eyes widened and you frowned. "Al, you know I can't do that." You moved closer to him, pulling him into a tight hug. He smelled like cinnamon and vanilla, and you tried to breathe it all in, cementing this moment in your own memories. "I'd be arrested for kidnapping."
Albus's arms wrapped around you and you melted into him, breathing out a sigh you hadn't realized you had been holding. You didn't want to let him go. But you did.
"You said you were thinking. Thinking about leaving. But not, not actually for sure. Right?"
You shrugged. "The arrangements are all made. If I decide to stay, I can. But I'm pretty sure I'm going."
Albus's eyes sunk, and you watched as the hope drained from is features. "Have you told Scorpius then? He deserves to know too."
You nodded. "Scorpius knows."
A flash of anger passed over Albus's face and then it disappeared, followed by clear hurt. "You told him, but not me?" He looked at you with eyes that were large and disappointed. "Why?"
You couldn't explain it. You didn't know how to explain what you felt. "I-I know I'm not supposed to have favorites. But - but I care about you Albus. And it was so hard, so hard to tell you. I didn't want to hurt you." You fiddled with your fingers. "It was so much easier pretending that everything was okay. You make me feel like everything's okay." You sniffed. "I thought I could deal with everything. But-but not after this. You saw what they did."
Albus rested his face in his hands. "You're hurting me."
Your eyes wrinkled. "I know. It's hurting me too."
He turned to take your hands and he squeezed them in comfort. For him or you, you weren't quite sure. "It's not your fault. That I'm hurting." He sighed. "I'm hurting because, because-" his voice was soft. "It hurts like hell because I love you."
Your eyes widened and you sucked in a breath. "I-I," you whispered faintly. "I love you too."
Albus shook a little, and he turned away from you. He gazed at the waters that lapped against the side of the building, and he shut his eyes. "We had so much time - and now you're leaving."
"It's not goodbye." You moved to sit closer to him. "I'll see you at the train station." You smiled. "And I'll write to you. And you can come over during the summer. You and Scorpius. It'll be just like the old days." You squeezed his hand. "It'll just be different - that's all."
"You're leaving tomorrow, then?"
You nodded. "Yeah. Tomorrow night." You motioned to the dorms. "My stuff's all packed. It's already on the train."
Albus rubbed his eyes and then took in a deep breath. "I'll walk you there, then."
You smiled, grasping onto his hand. "I'd like that. I'd like that a lot."
The wheels of the train were rotating now, and steam was blowing and the doors were hinged open. They shuddered a little, as if signaling that they would close soon.
"I'll miss you." You bit your lip. "Tell Scorpius I'll miss him too."
Albus nodded. He was reluctant to let go of your hand, and you took a step towards the train.
"Wait."
You turned around.
"Can I, can I kiss you? Just once?" His face was red, and he rubbed the back of his neck.
You felt like all the words had suddenly left your mouth, and suddenly you couldn't speak. Your head nodded rapidly, and your hand clenched against your bookbag.
Albus's forehead touched yours, and he shut his eyes. He let his lips meet yours, softly, and you closed your own eyes. You could feel the cold shiver of the night air, and it sympathized with you. You could already feel the sadness that was clearly flooding your own heart. Cinnamon and vanilla dusted your senses and you wrapped your arms around his shoulders.
"Goodbye, (Y/N)." He whispered.
You felt your bottom lip tremble and you unlatched your fingertips from his. "Goodbye, Al."
Cursed Child Characters’ New Year’s Resolutions
At stage door on Sunday night (31/12/17) @ohscorbus, @the-eighth-story, and I asked members of the cast what their characters’ new year’s resolutions would be. It’s a teeny bit late, but I still thought it would be fun to share! (Sorry, we forgot to ask James Howard what Draco’s would be – we were too busy telling him off for giving us feels.)
Craig – James Phoon
Craig’s new year’s resolution every year would be to become Head Boy. Even though he’s a fourth year he likes to pretend to be a Prefect, and he’s on a bit of a power trip – very Percy Weasley. One day he would have wanted to be Minister for Magic.
Snape – David Annen
In the Voldemort timeline, Snape’s resolution would always be to keep fighting for Lily’s cause and never give up, especially since there are only three of Dumbledore’s Army left.
Hermione – Rakie Ayola
Hermione’s resolution is simply to relax. To relax and spend more time with her kids.
Albus – Theo Ancient
At the end of the play, Albus’s resolution would be to be a better son, and connect with his dad. In 2018 it would be to try and do better at magic.
Scorpius – Samuel Blenkin
Samuel Blenkin, in case you don’t know this, is a massive troll, and he changed his answer halfway through. He started off really hesitantly, in a way that had a lot more meaning than I can convey in writing, saying ‘At the end of the play, Scorpius would-’ Then he cut himself off and went, ‘no, no, I can’t’. My accomplices can attest that he was about to say something about Scorpius and Albus’s relationship. It was obvious to all of us, and he definitely saw how excited we all got because he started smiling and said, ‘I think it’s something very personal’. Then he completely changed tack and started talking about how Scorpius wants to start standing up for himself more.
One day Samuel will crack and say what he really thinks about Scorpius and Albus’s relationship. It’s going to happen. (Although it’s already pretty obvious on stage; on Sunday he said the new version of us line so slowly and hesitantly and with so much meaning that he almost made himself and Theo corpse.)
‘Cursed Child’ review - 10th of March 2018
It was my fourth, and last, time seeing the second cast and it was a special visit because my sister was with me. For her it was the second time, after we both had seen the play for the first time ever back in November 2016 and just like then, we had Lowri as Ginny and Martin as Amos/Dumbledore xD. From other understudies there were Danny as Ron, Rayxia as Rose and Morag as McGonagall.
Jamie got better and better each time I saw him. This time he was phenomenal, almost as great as Jamie Parker. The blanket scene finally hit the right feelings within me and it was mainly thanks to Jamie. He was brilliant in Act Four; at last I liked his scene with Dumbledore, he had right amounts of anger, pain and sadness and he nailed the last scene with Albus. What I don't like in his performance is that he holds Draco's hand in the office scene. It's definitely too long and unnecessary. And Jamie still doesn't convince me as Scorpius. I don't know why he uses that high-pitched, silly voice out of the blue. My sister noticed it too and said it was strange and out-of-character.
My feelings about Rakie and James haven't changed as they haven't changed their performances much. I loved Danny, he was so funny, lovely and worked perfectly with Rakie and Lowri. And I was so happy that I saw Lowri again as I didn't remember her much from my first visit. She was great, her Ginny was the perfect combination of motherly love and comfort and fierce protection. She had nice chemistry with Jamie, even though sadly they didn't kiss in Act Four. Harry hugged Ginny tightly for a long while but there was no kiss. :(
Samuel is fantastic in serious, emotional scenes like the staircase scene, library scene or Voldemort AU. But in funny scenes he's too comical, he takes it too far. Anthony's Scorpius was also a bit over the top, a bit exaggerated and that's how Scorpius is supposed to be. But there's a thin line between what's funny but still natural and what's fake and just too much. And unfortunately Samuel crosses that line sometimes. It's especially apparent in the scene where the boys get out of the lake and Scorpius is overjoyed to see Harry Potter and the rest. I always liked this scene with Anthony, it was hilarious and a pleasure to watch. But with Samuel I get that secondhand embarrassment and want it to end. But overall, I love Samuel's Scorpius and he's one of my favourites from the second cast. I'm sad he's leaving the show.
Theo *sigh* I really liked him the first time, back in September. And while I still prefer Sam and he'll probably always be 'my Albus', Theo's interpretation of the role is interesting and valid. But there's something in his acting manner that puts me off, that irritates me and doesn't allow me to fully enjoy his performance. The way he speaks, for example, my sister said that he sounded as if he tried too hard to pronounce certain words. And thanks to seating very close to the stage I saw very clearly his facial expressions. For me they are too exaggerated, he plays with his brows too much, it all seems as if he's trying too hard but it makes his performance unnatural. But he has some good scenes, like library scene, scenes in Godric's Hollow or the final scene.
