Theodore didn't know why he left nervous, she had said yes, after all. Yet, the nerves were ever-present in his stomach as he checked his outfit for the millionth time. His best mate would be giving him shit if they were present, thank goodness they weren't. He told himself to stop overthinking but that was easier said than done. Quile and he had history, yes, but that didn't mean that this time around things would turn out well. They hadn't stayed in contact after their breakup and had only met up years later and yet, he couldn't stop thinking about her and her smile during that game night. The fact that she had been wearing his jersey only made him grin. As he approached the place they agreed to meet, he truly tried to calm his nerves. So many what-ifs were going through his mind but the second he saw her very familiar figure, all the tension dissipated from his body and his lips turned up into a smile.
"You look as beautiful as ever, Quile," he greeted softly as his blue eyes drank her in. She truly looked stunning, he even caught a few people turning their heads to get a second look at her, he couldn't blame them. Theo hadn't come empty-handed, he held a bouquet of what he hoped were still her favorite flowers and a wrapped-up book in brown paper with blue twine. "I hope these are still your favorites and that you'll enjoy this book, it reminded me of you when I read it," he confessed with a soft grin.
