Liam bites his lip as he listens, and as if his smile could be seen over the phone, his suddenly shy gaze lands on the ground near his feet. "You mean I can't call just to hear that voice?" Teasing is easier than coming out with his request. Always better to ease the potential sting of rejection before it happens. "Okay, alright. Um... are you training in the city this summer?" He asks finally.

"Just because... so, a couple of guys invited me with them on vacation, and apparently the invitation comes with a plus one." Liam pauses, biting his lip before continuing. "I wasn't planning on using it, but then I thought... maybe I know someone who might also like to get away? Someone... hardworking and handsome and who wouldn't mind spending a week in a swimsuit on the beach?"

It was supposed to be a night of celebration, one last hurrah before Beau was going to say goodbye to his bachelor days. The rehearsal dinner went successful, a wonderful dinner with friends, laughter, and all his love ones preparing to see him walk down the aisle. The night carried on before a hushed conversation came in, causing it to shatter him.

A whispered confession. His best friends warning told from her maid of honor after finding out the truth. His fiance wasn't marrying him for love. She was marrying him for his money, lifestyle, and security.

Now, here was Beau. Standing outside of the restaurant. His hands moving through his locks before he let out a deep breath. He told everyone to leave, so he was at his party now alone. Opening the restaurant door, he stopped the first person he saw. He needed to splash cold water on his face. "I'm sorry, uh, where's your bathroom?"

christmas eve at the carrington's was a splendid affair, and usually one that alex thoroughly enjoyed. this year, however, he was nervous. he glanced over at solena as the elevator doors opened into the foyer of his parents' penthouse and wondered if she too was experiencing any kind of anxiety in anticipation of the evening ahead of them. he was bringing her to meet his family for the first time, something he didn't do often. partly because his parents had a very clear idea of what they wanted in a partner for their eldest son -- for all their children, actually -- and anyone who fell short of that was simply not good enough.

bathed in soft golden light, the opulent space was adorned with tasteful decorations, from towering christmas trees embellished with glistening ornaments to festive snow-flecked wreaths. his mother really had gone all out this year. or at least, the people she had paid to do it had. they were early, it didn't seem as though anyone else had arrived yet. after a quick glance around the" room to make sure they were actually alone, alex turned to solena. "you okay?"

Ever since Caitriona got back into his life Alex was ecstatic, sure getting used to the idea that'd be be a dad had been a shock and it made him think on several scenarios but once the idea settled in, he was happy about it. Probably too happy because his head was on Cai and their baby and he'd been a mess at his game, fucking up things he knew by heart. He took the cursing from his team in silence since no one knew about the baby yet but deep down, even though hockey had been his entire life for so long, Alex shrugged off the reproach because well, he was to be a dad and he promised himself he'd get his head back in the game once he could finally go to the first appointment with Caitriona and he knew for sure their baby was fine.

He got the quickest shower in history, dressing in a team's t-shirt, sweatpants and a team's cap he didn't stop to hear more from his teammates and practically ran off trying to avoid coach so he could pick up Cai from the house and make it to the hospital in time. Thanks to his brother, he got the best obstetrician in the city and hopefully, they'd have good news. "I'll be there in five." Alex called her when he was closer and waited for her with the car running. He gave her a wide albeit anxious smile as he opened the door for her. "Hey, sexy." He greeted, letting her settle before leaning in for a kiss. "How d'you feel? Need anything before we go to the hospital?"

Munich being only a four-hour drive from Frankfurt was very little compared to the lengths Halcombe would go to attend Dries' wedding ─ an event she and others in their circle were sure to never occur. Said celebration left Halcombe as the last in their group to get married, a fact she was content with since she could never imagine being in such a union; but when she did RSVP with a plus one, they were all very curious as to who she would bring. She had come to cherish Iseul's company, the younger woman often a welcomed distraction to her unfaltering life, and Hal wanted her to see the city and invited her to spend the weekend together, so they could attend the nuptials and then have a look around the sites.

Tucked away in their studio Hal had borrowed from a friend for the trip since she didn't like staying at hotels (her distaste stemming from all those lonely nights at various ones around the world when on a mission), they sat on the floor with their backs against the couch, music flowing in the scenery as she set down her wine glass on the coffee table in front of them. Fingers wandered to find the smooth expanse of Iseul's hand, rubbing tender patterns, "Thank you for coming with me this weekend, I hope my friends don't scare you off. They're usually better behaved, as just a forewarning. But I'm sure they'll keep themselves in check, I heard Dries' bride's family is a purist for that sort of thing. Just... don't believe anything they tell you." She ended with a light joke in case Iseul was at all tense.

"Today at work I had a student try to convince me that he couldn't do his homework because he got caught in a time loop. Which I must admit was the most interesting excuse that I've ever heard." Anthony told the other with a small chuckle. "Usually my students just claim their dog ate it, or that they lost it." He added as there was always some sort of reason. "It's a shame I don't teach creative writing, because he told me quiet the tale."

After the amazing time they had while Wesley taught Pembe how to ride on Walnut and enjoyed a good picnic, of which he had dozens of photos on his phone, it was time for him to step into her world. He had never done pottery or ceramics I’d any kind but he was happy to learn. Albeit, he was a tad nervous. The bell of her shop rang above him as he entered and he couldn’t help but look around. The entire space screamed Pembe and that made a smile grace his face. When heard soft footfalls and paws he turned and his smile widened. Gorgeous as ever. He licked his lips and swallowed softly. “Good morning, Pembe, Kuzey,” he greeted her and her guide dog warmly as he walked over to her. “How have you been?” He couldn’t help but wonder about her day. It had been a while since they last saw each other. Things at the farm had gotten busy but he had kept in communication with her. Which was always the highlight of his day.

"You're probably going to have to be very patient with me, Pembe. I have never done pottery before," he told her with a soft chuckle. He had no idea how he'd make anything with his calloused hands. "Before I forget though, my mother made you this apple walnut pie, it's really good," he said. "Where should I put it for you?"
