ANGST     SENTENCE     STARTERS.

               years   had   passed   since   their   group   last   crossed   paths   with   the   uniquely   pacifist   demons    ,    musica   and   sung  –  joo     ,     but   not   a   single   one   of   them   had   forgotten   their     GRATITUDE.     ray   himself   felt   strongly   included   in   the   mix.     if   it   weren’t   for   sung  –  joo   and   his   expedient   course   of   action   in   rescuing   him    ,    he   would   have   no   place   amongst   the   living.     the   demons   from   the   plantation   would   have   dragged   him   back   to   gracefield   to   be   shipped   out     –     to   meet   the   fate   that   befell   all     CATTLE   CHILDREN.

               the   somber   thought   serves   as   an   everlasting   reminder   of   what   is   owed   to   the   demon   walking   beside   him:     at   the   very   least     ,     HIS   THANKS.     ❛     no   problem    –     i’ve   learnt   how   to   deal   with   the   wild   ones   already.     i   can   handle   myself     ,     but   thanks    for   the   words   of   confidence.     ❜     they’re   in   the   midst   of   a   patrol   and   his   hands   adjust   their   grip   on   his   firearm   as   if   to   reinforce   the   statement     ,    though   ray   doesn’t   end   the   conversation   there.    he’s   still    looking   at   the   other   intently   and   without   the   trace   of   a   smile     ,     as   if   there   was   something   truly   important   he   had   to   say.     ❛     .   .   .     speaking   of    gratitude     ,     i   don’t   believe   i’ve   thanked   you   yet   for   the   time   you   saved   me.     it’s   because   of   you   that   i’m   even   standing   here   today     ,     sung  –  joo.     ❜

distrust comes easy when he plans for everything that may go wrong, constantly checking and retracing his steps, minimizing the percentage of error as much as his capabilities allow. regret is not something he wants to become familiar with, so he gains allies, expanding the realm of possibilities for what can be accomplished. it’s where he has to put his trust, even at the risk of becoming an unknown factor. allies so far has proven to be a great help, and knowing that he stands far away from the safety of the tree house, smiling at the demon who has helped his family when he couldn’t. “i’ve heard about you. a demon who doesn’t eat humans. you even helped a group of children. i think anyone would find that odd.”

"Congratulations human. Your short existence got a little shorter." He slaps the other back with a low laugh.

“I um.... thank you. I think.”

"You must be the little squirt's father." A freakishly tall man towered over the blond parent, a spear resting on his shoulder. "The name's Sung-Joo, nice to meet you sir..."

James was tired and sitting on his sofa made things a lot easier. Though with the new guest here he managed a small smile, “Nice to meet you too. Names James.”

“Its in four days! The 25th. You should wish him a happy birthday then mister!”
