“Wife I suppose. Unless you’re a figment of my imagination.” She responded dryly and her lips curled a little into a smirk. He looked oddly the same, even as he was clearly different. Aged and worn a bit more than he had been… But gods above he was handsome as ever. Always. It was one of his most irritating qualities. How he always looked handsome and somehow always was charming. Even when she hated him… which she did… or… wanted to at least. “Its been…. Let’s see…. Two years now I suppose since I woke up on a park bench alive instead of dead…. It looks as though a bit more time has slipped past for you perhaps…” She offered with her green eyes ever amused and slightly flickering with an old spark only his company ever could light.
The Master smiled at the way that Lucy responded to him, the way she spoke dryly to him. He liked the change, the defiance in her tone. She was no longer one of the little humans that followed blindly like a flock animal. When he had first seduced her he would not have guessed that there would come a day that he finally found her truly interesting. He should hate her, as he hates most humans... but he found that he couldn't. In a way she had helped shaped him to what he was currently, even if it had been while she was attempting to murder him a second time. When she had poisoned his revival it had caused the Time Lords to heal him and that had taken away the drums, the signal to return Gallifrey. He was finally able to have quiet as a result of her actions, and perhaps that was why he could not hate her. That or the time they spent married... "An understatement there, love." A bitter chuckle left his throat as he thought of the countless years that had passed for him. Seeing that spark in her eye made his hearts ache, and he frowned at the feeling. "A few centuries has made our time together just a blip in my long life."
