This was the concept cover for my what eventually turned into my cardistry download Maydey produced. This is where Inner Thoughts started.
Josh Brand asked me if I wanted to make a download for his website Maydey in the summer of 2010. I remember not only because I had been wanting to become a featured artist on Maydey, but also because he asked during the Lakers 2010 championship run. Haha. He does not like the Lakers. I love the Lakers. Anyways, fast forward to the Fall of that year and you get this image.
I made it using the Sony Vegas editing software. It was going to go along with my flourish of the same name and its many variations. You can actually see an excerpt from what the download was going to be: here. I cannot remember exactly, but I think I also filmed my flourish Star Scream, but to be honest, I was not going to include it. I have always been protective of that one. Perhaps one day.
So, getting back on track here, I had worked on the download from around September to November-ish of that Fall. I even worked with Tyler Chase to get a few original pieces of music made for it which was something that not everyone could say they had (shoutout Omar Renfro for the connection). Then Josh said, after he reviewed the work I had submitted, “What if I visit Colorado so we can film it with my T2i?” ... Yup. Look. I can’t blame him. Haha. As you can see from the excerpt I linked earlier, my production value needed help.
So, it was an instant yes to Josh visiting, but that meant nothing I had worked on was going to be used. Not too big a deal really. More than anything, I was stoked for Josh to visit.
