Theodore’s patience was beginning to run thin. He understood that this was important but he was pretty sure it was far more important to Tess and Theo’s parents than it was to them. Was he incredibly grateful to have their friends and family there to celebrate them? Of course. But the man was introvert to say the least and it was taking a huge amount of energy to deal with all of the attention that was on him and them. He wasn’t exactly sure how Tess felt though. But he would be lying if he wasn’t trying to come up with an escape plan from the stuffiness of this. And that escape plan of course involved Tess. If this whole engagement period was truly about them then selfishly or not, he just wanted to steal Tess away and enjoy the moment with her. With all of these people around that wasn’t exactly possible. Theo noticed Tess step up to the bar and decided to make his move. “It’s weird how we barely get to see each other at our own engagement party isn’t it? I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but still. How’s it been going for you?”
