send me five times kissed for a drabble about five times our muses kissed
There wasn’t a hint of romance in the kiss. Oh, she felt something for this pitiful man, but now her lips met his in desperation and sympathy. Desperation to be free with Raoul still living; sympathy for a man who hadn’t even felt the expected affection of a mother.
She held his face tightly in shaking hands, mouth pressed firmly against his as all her energy flowed into the kiss. If this didn’t work, the only idea she had left was to give into his demands.
Dread filled her when he pushed her away.
“Angel,” a shaky voice called out. Christine held onto her skirt, lifting it above her ankles in case she changed her mind and decided to run out of the room.
It was wrong, wasn’t it? To come to him? He had done so much to hurt her and yet…
When she found him, she could do little to stop herself from grabbing onto his hand and pressing a kiss to his knuckles. Did he deserve such a thing after all the pain he’d caused? Likely not, but Christine found that, at the moment, she didn’t care.
Christine really wasn’t expecting a kiss on the cheek.
She was quite sure that Erik loved her — at least, that was what he always said to her — but ever since she’d come to be with him, affectionate moments were few and far between. It was almost as if he feared touching her, or something of the sort.
So she stared up at him with wide eyes for a moment, her mouth falling open slightly, before she managed a soft, “Thank you.”
“—yes, well,” he’d muttered hurriedly, before he was gone in the blink of an eye. There was hardly any evidence he had been in the room at all, aside from the phantom feeling of his lips on her cheek.
She smiled softly and returned her attention to the book in her hands.
Christine had grown used to Erik’s temper over time, but that didn’t stop her from cowering on the sidelines when it flared up. Would it be all that wise to be near him and get knocked over like the table he’d just dealt with?
She wasn’t really sure what it was that had angered him this time, but she was sure she had heard him shout something about music. It seemed to be more, however, when he had said her name and something about her fearing him.
Oh, she did fear him when he was like this — any sane person would — but she didn’t want it to upset him further. So she gathered up as much courage as she could, lifted her chin up high, and marched over to him.
“Erik,” His name had come from her lips in a firm tone during the first syllable, only to quickly dwindle to a quiet squeak by the second. The dark look in his eyes didn’t exactly have her feeling assertive.
She opted to go for a different, safer approach, and got up onto the tips of her toes to give him a chaste kiss. He just sort of stared at her in surprise, but at least he wasn’t angry anymore.
It seemed that she was always kissing him and he was never kissing her. Was he scared to kiss her? Did he not want to? Did he think she would get upset because she didn’t want it? Maybe he loved her, but he was disgusted at the thought of touching her…
Christine pondered this all as she watched him write music. She always did that, too. She would be reading and then she’d hear him scribbling away on his parchment, and she would completely forget about the book just so she could stare at him.
She mostly stared with longing. Life was a lot lonelier with him than she’d ever expected. She wanted to share a bed with him, yet he didn’t even sleep in a bed and so they both slept in separate rooms, alone. She wanted to sit in his lap, but feared he would jump up and push her away.
“What are you staring at?”
She blinked and then a light blush came to her cheeks. “Oh…I didn’t realized you noticed.”
“I was just…uh…” She racked her brain for an excuse, but there really wasn’t one. Unless she went down a cruel route and said she’d been thinking of his face beneath his mask…not only a lie, but a hurtful one. “I was staring at you, Angel.”
She bit her lip, staring at him once more, before she was suddenly on her feet and walking towards him. She couldn’t explain why she was staring in words, so perhaps she could in actions.
“Here.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him full on the lips, nearly edging her way into his lap but deciding against it. She kissed him until she was breathless and when she pulled back, there was a grin on her face.
She was pretty certain he kissed her back.
