Happy BELATED #birthday to #VINCENTPRICE! May 27, 1911 – October 25, 1993 He would’ve been 108! . My introduction to Price was when played #Egghead on the 60’s #Batman show that we’d watch in syndication every Saturday morning. Price scared the bejeezus out of me when he did the voice over on #MichaelJackson ’s #THRILLER. Then again in #TimBurton ’s #EdwardScissorhands from there I began seeking out his other films. #THELASTMANONEARTH #HOUSEONHAUNTEDHILL #THETINGLER and #THEPITANDTHEPENDULUM are still favorites of mine. The best and weirdest one has to be #ConfessionsOfAnOpiumEater I had only seen it once but was completely weirded out by it. I wish I could find that on dvd. . Vincent Price was also an avid art collector and wrote a few cookbooks. He influenced many artists and musicians that influenced me. #TheMisfits wouldn’t have as many records if it weren’t for Price and the films he starred in. . This piece was originally designed for @queensofthestoneage in 2014. I had been holding onto this idea of using Price from the #tingler aka #IlMostroDiSangue being that the first few #qotsa albums were all about drugs. Vincent Price holding a syringe full of fun seemed like a fun and innocent idea. . After the #rockposter sold out I reused the art and changed the design a bit for my solo show #screamwithme The art print glows in the dark. Fancy business! . Here's a sketch-to-finish process of my interpretation of The Pit and the Pendulum. Excited to say that on 10/27, my collection of Poe illustrations will be included in a group show at the Poe Arts Festival, hosted by the German Society of Pennsylvania! Working on some Etsy inventory today. I recently had an inquiry on my Haunted Poet prints which are out of stock except for greeting cards and post cards.
