It’s beginning to taste a lot like Christmas with all those wonderful Holiday Blends coming out of such lovely roasters! I’ve tried a few myself.

It’s also beginning to look a lot like COMPETITION SEASON! Basically, Bethany and I will be 100% hustlin’ and bustlin’ until it’s all over.

It’s hard to believe 2 years ago, we started this blog because of competing and now, here we are again. Seasoned and ready to DO THE THING!

I brewed up some of Velton’s Holiday Blend on, which received a score of 94 on Coffee Review. Pretty wild and delicious. In Santa’s Sleigh. Sadly, without Bethany. 

So here’s my Holiday Greetings! Cheers to a DELICIOUS New Year!

Sometimes Bethany and I have a hard time finding new and exciting places to brew coffee, so we seek help from our friends. The only thing better than coffee in nature, is sharing coffee with people in nature.  In 2013, we asked our friend Josh (Water Avenue Coffee) to help us find something more adventurous, and well, we ended up at the spaceship on Sauvies Island. 

Sometimes, it’s all about the coffee, and other times, it’s all about the company. This particular trip, all I remember is the 3 of us singing in unison “Circle of Life” as we approached our destination.

Hey guys! Megan again. I'm constantly moving and brewing. Made my way down South to work on some personal projects and to challenge myself to grow and learn more about Coffee.

Somewhere in Arizona, I brewed some coffee in hopes to see the Grand Canyon, but all I got to see was a beautiful glow in the night sky. I will be back. I will lose my breath over that view. Until then, more coffee.

Same beach, different day.

This is a late post. In April my sister and I went down beside the Deschutes river to brew some Aeropresses. She had just gotten her first coffee job, and I was excited to light a fire of nerdy coffee love in her heart.

She did well, and looks way more majestic grinding coffee with a Porlex than I do. 

The coffee would have tasted better if I'd remembered to time the brews, but live and learn!

Brewing at the Coast with Friends.

I (Megan) had a friend visiting from Atlanta and I thought I'd show her the coast and we'd drink wonderful amounts of coffee. After all this time, I am now an established brewer... By the way, I should update you on how I did at Brewer's Cup...

We stopped by the store to pick up smores and hot dogs. Also water because of the BOIL WATER EMERGENCY!

The wind and the rain prevailed and we almost could not make a fire. After a few trips to the cigarette shop to find conventional ways to start fires, we had to get creative. The nice lady working at the cigarette shop sent me on my way with kindling wood and free newspapers. She gave me a few ideas, but we eventually just made a cone with the newspaper to block the wind, and eventually got the lighter to lite. We set the paper on fire. Lani held on to the fire while we tried to get the pilot light lit on the stove. Eventually she had to let go, and the ball of fire set loose and rolled along the beach until we were able to smother it with sand. Still, with a few hot spots, we put the kindling on top and nursed it to health.

We did not enjoy coffee or smores that day. But we did cook 4 hot dogs and had the best day despite a seagull dumping his anger onto my head because we taunted them with our (spilt) milk and cookies.
