alana
22. family ; alana has always been pretty family-oriented -- the deaths of her parents when she was younger only really cemented that, and she grew up very close to her brothers and even pretty fiercely bonded to her aunt, who she would often bicker with.
so that kind of foundation is important to her, and like. honestly as many mom jokes as we make about her, in character i don’t really think she’d feel good about people being like “oh you’re such a mom are those your kids” largely because of the situation with...her actual kid, but she still considers the people closest to her her family?? and has referred to them as such on-site. margot, mel, will (before he left) and...even kirito to some extent, although she doesn’t really know him as well as the others.
i think a part of her is still reaaally hesitant to get that close to judar or assume he’s going to be, like. any kind of permanent fixture in her life, but. she tries to kind of quietly enforce that...she’s there, that everything is, if he ever decides he wants a life for himself, too.
15. hands ; first and most important to note is alana’s recent affinity for like. black nail polish. sometimes dark red or purple, but usually black. how edgy can you get tbfh. another thing that’s changed about them is that while they used to be very...still, she’s now developed a habit of kind of expressing tension through them?? it’s not overwhelmingly noticeable - usually just manifesting in the soft tapping of a finger or the way she tightens her grip on something, but she is sliiiightly more prone to her own kind of “fidgeting” than she used to be all the same.
she has good doctor’s hands. they’re small, but very steady (hopefully she’s around to diffuse the next bomb emil brings to the icc,) and she has a surprisingly firm grip.
lucille
18. winter ; winter has always generally tended to be the season that lucille...prefers, and not because she enjoys watching the world die, surprisingly enough. winter, before the...roof started crumbling away, always made allerdale hall feel a little warmer somehow. the other three seasons were just rueful temptations, during childhood, reminders of the world she and thomas were never really going to get to experience while their parents were alive. but the chill of winter made their home feel a little cozier, a little closer to safe, at least for brief flashes of time. she used to have a particular fascination with the way the clay bled into the snow, too -- it was a little unnerving but she’d also never seen something as vibrant as that before. the grounds were so plain every other time of the year.
9. music ; music has always been...the closest thing to a coping mechanism lucille’s ever had. music is a way of pouring your feelings into something, a way that nobody can really take advantage of or hold against you. whether it was soothing herself or thomas with lullabies or getting lost in whatever she was playing on the piano (she learned the cello, too, but that was one of the things that was sold back when their money was first draining) or determinedly trying to tackle any kind of new instrument that was brought into allerdale for any reason (she has a natural talent for picking them up pretty quickly, but she never got to spend much time with them), it served as an escape, and something that made her genuinely happy.
it never quite lit the same spark in her after her time in the asylum but. it’s still one of the few things that can pry some semblance of life and energy out of her. she’s sort of drawn to music other people play, too, if they’re good -- it’s something she appreciates.
gigi
2. HATE ; i had to capitalize it because i just think it’s so funny even though gigi is like. clearly very very vengeance-driven. we don’t know the exact reasoning behind that yet (although it seems pretty obviously linked to the whole “dead girl in a bathtub” thing, the most popular theory is that she was one of the girls who was present for that but i also have to wonder if...the dead girl might not actually have been dead if you know what i mean) BUT ANYWAY. yeah. i mean it sounds ridiculous to say it because she’s...gigi but you do have to realize how much silliness she puts on for people, and how much that effectively hides the depths of how angry she is. i think she bitterly hates most of the sorority girls a lot, and that kind of loathing extends to anyone who is like. super vapid and disloyal and careless with other people’s lives. she’d probably get hella mad at like half of the casual, desensitized villains on denny. GIGI VS. MAGATO.
phoebe
7. travel ; phoebe romanticizes travel a lot, like -- she’s always wanted to see the world. but for that being the case, she doesn’t...vacation very often. i mean, like, she ventures out of san francisco sometimes when work calls for it (normal or supernatural work) but time off and just traveling places to see the sights have never...really been things she’s had time for, in her life. so that was why it was kind of nice to have drake just. whisking her off places. sometimes she would bug paige or leo like “hey let’s orb to like madrid for a day!!!” which is a nice benefit of having whitelighter relatives but other than that it’s not really feasible for her.
