Brutus had arrived at Skyhold some time ago, but his kids didn’t come for another few weeks after. He wanted to make sure that the place was safe for them. One of them was still only eleven after all.
Kosmo and Farrin travelled alone and by foot. The trek was long and trying for the both of them. Though even after days of tiring travelling, the kids were still excited to explore the castle. As they first entered they gazed in awe at the magnificence of the towers. They greeted Inquisition members and went through every door they could find (except for the Tavern, where Farrin was shooed out). Farrin’s energy grew throughout the day, rushing here and there to explore and exhausting Kosmo.
“Come on, Kosmo, I wanna see the gardens!” Just as Farrin turned to run through the door only to be met with a person. The boy toppled backwards and fell.
His older brother smiled but sighed. He went over to Farrin and picked him up, putting him on his feet. His greyed eyes looked apologetically to the person Farrin ran into. “Sorry about that. He’s just really excited.”

‘I thought your striped pants were the dress!’ Lerith writes with a smirk.
“Oh. Hah. You know in some areas of Thedas, these pants are considered highly fashionable. Thank you very much.”
A Holiday Tradition
@thequiethealer || (x)
Holidays were… foreign to Lerith. Slaves didn’t get to participate in anything except cooking and serving. They didn’t exactly have money for presents or any sort of thing like that. So seeing all the decorations and festivities going on was… almost exciting. Sure, Lerith stayed to the sidelines and out of the way most of the time, but sometimes in the morning he could stand in the main hall to admire the glittering decorations. Something about Satinalia day soon. Of course, he didn’t realize just what he was standing underneath until he felt warm lips press against his cheek. Immediately the mute stiffened with a hand going up to where those lips had been and a turn revealed…
…Nelras? On his pale skin, it was easy enough to see the pink show in his cheeks. [What kiss for?!] his hands immediately signed, not thinking in a moment that the Inquisitor might not understand
Nelras drew back quickly, suddenly realizing he might have frightened the other elf. Lerith was still rather skittish, and an unexplained kiss to the cheek had to be a bit of a startle.
While he couldn’t understand the hand signs, he still had a reasonable idea about what Lerith was saying, or rather, asking.
“My apologies, I did not mean to startle you. It is a human tradition, for the holiday of Satinalia. The cluster of herbs above you is a part of the tradition. When someone stands beneath it, someone must give them a kiss. If two people are caught beneath it, even by accident, they too must kiss. Typically onlookers demand it be on the lips, but I did not wish to do so without permission.”
He reached up and tugged at one of his earlobes nervously, worrying he might have offended Lerith. “I was excited to try the tradition. I forgot you may not have heard of it. Please, accept my apologies if I have upset you.”
Reconcile
A starter for @thequiethealer, continuation of the thread “Together”
Akorad didn’t remember falling asleep, but he awoke to a stiffness in his whole frame from spending the night in Skyhold’s garden and the concerned voice of Mother Giselle asking if he was alright. He assured her that he was fine, despite being anything but, and made his way to the upper floor of the Herald’s Rest. In the mornings the tavern was mostly empty, and the second floor even more so. On the third floor he risked questioning from Cole, but here the only other person was Sera, and she wouldn’t wake until noon. He settled in at a table to think over the events of the night before.
Lerith had decided to try and fix him. Yes, admittedly, he’d called himself broken, but he’d told the elf to leave it. And yet he’d insisted. And now, coward that he was, instead of talking to his beloved about it, he was hiding from him in the tavern with red-rimmed eyes with dark bags beneath them and a heart on the verge of breaking.
Silent Anger l l closed
@thequiethealer
Pelle didn’t mean to panic. Really, he didn’t. There was just something oddly intimidating about an anger that could not be voiced. It was written all over Lerith’s face, his eyes just burning with a rage that Pelle hadn’t seem from the mute before. Lerith was always so shy, so sweet, gentle even. To see his face scrunch with displeasure had almost frightened the Inquisitor.
More than that the way the other elf signed to him was even more disheartening to the elf. He felt bad that he couldn’t understand. It was like being shouted at in a language you couldn’t understand, reading an angry note you could not read. He ached to know what was troubling the other, but the barrier was always in the way even with his basic knowledge.
He felt his lip quiver just slightly, a sad expression painted on his face. The Inquisitor dared not take a step back lest the other feel bad for their outburst. Unfortunately he couldn’t hide the emotion in his eyes or the way his lip trembled as he tried not to voice his panic.
“I...uhm...,” He scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
Pray
@thequiethealer liked for a banter starter!
Eon had a staff on hand, obviously using it more as a walking stick. He came to the Chantry gardens to pray but he wasn’t sure if his leg would allow him to make it to the altar. Not even halfway there, he noticed an open spot on a bench with an elf on the other side. Eon limped over.
“Mind if I sit here?” he strained.
thequiethealer replied to your post: Sit on someone once and they complain forever.
‘Why did you sit on him?’
Cause he was a little shit.
