i just thought of something

we all know that gaara in classic is always going on and on about killing everyone to make him feel alive, right? thinking about it, it's shukaku's blood thirst that makes him do that but i genuinely think that he's doing that in hope for someone to kill him. even before yashamaru's death he always said his heart hurt and it definitely got worse after it so he just wants to be released from it. so he looks for the strongest to fight with hoping that they would finally make him feel physical pain and actually take away the pain from his heart.
