     He’s looking around with a small hope that they weren’t talking directly towards him. But, alas, there is nobody around. Nobody next to him that the other can be talking to. Unless this was one of those…. tactician moments where they were talking to themselves. He knows that Robin has those moments.

     But it seems like he was being spoken to directly as the silence goes a bit too long. He’s now at the mercy of the summoner’s judgement.

          “ Well… Are you scared…? ”

     Yes. Leave it up to the seemingly simpleminded Chrom to ask something so direct. Here, the other was saying something that sounded so deep and the young Exalt brings that to a sudden halt. It was as though he jumped into water and it turned out to only be a puddle. 

          “ It doesn’t seem so bad. You have me, right? As I have you to keep me company. ”

though i suppose it would be better if lissa and robin were around … but they’re not here at the moment

          “ Are you saying it’s not enough? You think our bonds aren’t enough? I can try to find some of the others… ”

Oh. Okay. Perhaps there it is. A small spark igniting within him. That spark of FEAR. He’s not showing it yet - despite him going silent. But it’s so easy to feign innocent and continue to look lost in though. 

you fool ! you better hope robin is safe …

No wait. Maybe Chrom was in trouble…       Oh… Oh no. Did they know about biscuits? 

     Oh Naga… this was about the biscuits wasn’t it. They’ve found out and now they were going to punish him.

     But they smelled so good !!
