so here are some images

and here are some thoughts in no particular order:

the use of blue blood and spit to mean not membership in the upper class but rather servitude to it

clear reproductive imagery going on (umbilical cord, blood between the thighs)

only acceptable use of power from gwen is defense of children and not the self

gwen looked undamaged until olivia "fixed" her (reconnected to her via umbilical cord, cut open her stomach...)

olivia's mother is notably absent

i think. perhaps. this show is going to have some opinions about reproductive violence.

in very many ways i have no dog in this fight but i do have dogs in a couple of related fights so just as a general statement if you are trying to defend someone who is like publicly turbo racist from a transmisogynistic smear campaign it would be cool if u did not make explicit parallels to the struggles of Black women. doing so makes me think u don't actually care abt Black ppl u just like using us in ur arguments. "especially Black trans people" ok but u are not only talking abt a white trans person u are talking about a publicly and pretty recently racist trans person . why r u comparing her struggle to Black womens' struggles especially when Black trans women are at SIGNIFICANTLY higher risk of experiencing callouts like this and will experience much worse fallout. "especially Black women" is becoming a kind of mantra to let ppl avoid thinking about the actual effects of racism in the community by paying lip service and invoking it in the name of someone who personally antagonised, disrespected, and made fun of (not specifically but especially) Black people *within the work they are making still money off of* is not only disingenuous it is contributing to the hostility towards Black people that is maintained in trans spaces to this day.
