Stillness
When a river stops its flow, the water has nowhere to go.
Leaving behind percussion marked stones of its past
We do not know what caused the drought but surely it won't last
Ripples on the stones like scars on your skin
Tell the stories of its struggles ever since it began
The riverbed cried for help cracking from the pain
Until one day it's cries for help was answered with some rain
Storms wreak havoc through the night until the morning sun
Fixing all the cracks and signs of drought that was previously done
The river who once lost all hope regained its purpose in full
The pain from drought and stillness was truly insightful
Now the river can continue its journey breathing life and moving towards
It's newly found thankfulness of continuing forward.
