I thought it was part of the marriage contract with the Tyrells/Lannisters that he HAD to be Kingsguard. I don’t think it’s been stated in the show, but if he’s not it makes sense as to why he’s not been wearing armour yet this series.
yeah it is in the book, but I think the show changed it around a bit so that they could have another gay drama!!!1!!!!!!? like we didn't already have that with renly/margaery also i suppose easier than explaining tyrell bros in highgarden and w/e
But I'm 99.98% sure Loras will be dressed in kingsguard armour soon enough, in the "meet new characters" video with the tyrell bit there's a clip of moody loras looking at his nana and sister with his ickle gwumpy face so I see fam-fam drama.
I just feel sad because it's ruining how the tyrell's all KNOW about Loras (aka Garlan deffo knew) and accepted it and made the best of it by having him protect Marg because he doesn't NEED to be married sigh.
