Sep 21, 2025 is the 53rd year anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines. Embodying the spirit for true liberation, from Luneta to EDSA to other parts of the country including Cebu, Cagayan De Oro, Ilocos Sur, thousands of Filipinos went out to protest and express their outrage over corruption and persistent plundering under Marcos Jr.’s administration.
Every day we Filipinos found out in the news about the mismanagement of government-funded flood control projects. Billions of pesos (though this is done since Arroyo’s administration, it can be estimated around trillions) allocated for these projects were not really expedited. Instead, these funds were pocketed by corrupt contractors and politicians whose lifestyles including their children were flaunted extravagantly and framed them to be aspirational for the masses.
For a typhoon-prone country like the Philippines, where millions of lives and livelihoods are destroyed by floods. Seeing the truth unfolds, is a clear indication of injustices towards us Filipinos.
