At the sight of what seemed like a large group, Clem peered from around the edge of where she'd been hiding, her eyes glancing over every face "... Have you been bitten or scratched?"

Giving a half-smile, the girl tipped her head to Rick. “How’s things?”

These highways were abandoned, in a few senses of the word. Abandoned cars, trucks, discarded spoiled food -- discarded, dispatched loved ones tossed to the side of the road, wrapped in family blankets. It was like a clogged artery, a cancerous lump on the body of survival. But today.. Today it was a goldmine, for the moment. Marcus had hit a jackpot of sorts -- to hell with the note left for the girl on this car, whoever was looking for her had left supplies, and he was taking advantage of that shit. Sentiment was the first thing to go when it came to him. With a sweep of his arm cans clattered into his backpack. He tucked the blanket under his arm, and turned to head out of there.
Whoever this Sophia girl was, he had to thank her for getting her ass lost, here. Chuckling under his breath, he shouldered his pack a little higher, his footsteps sure, confident. In his free hand, a baseball bat turned mace, with nails sticking out every which way. Guns were too noisy, especially in a valley like this. Didn't mean he didn't have a pistol in his back waistband just in cast. At the sound of shambling feet, Marcus ducked down a bit. A single walker wandered out from behind a van, and with all the efficiency of a man adapted to this world, he dispatched it.
Something.. didn't seem right.

Castiel wasn't a stupid man and he was just a touch more reckless than he once was, but certainly not dimwitted. He knew better than to just wander off from camp into the distance forests that laid behind it. He was leaving the one safe place he knew to enter a vast land of the dead. That's not exactly the way he saw it though. He thought that, if he had a gun and a good amount of ammo, he was set. It was a risky assumption, but it hadn't failed him yet.
The former angel was only leaving the camp in this cast because he was smoking a joint. It was getting too stuffy in his cabin to smoke anymore without coughing up a lung and when he went outside too many people would snap at him. The easiest just to wander off for a while.
That's how Castiel found himself this deep in the forest. The surroundings were no longer familiar and the sky was turning a pinkish hue. He had to be lost by now, but he couldn't bring himself to care. All he could took but take another draw and continue forward.
