WRPC Tracks Thermal power India Forced Outages
The Western Regional Power Committee reports 7,421 MW of forced outages alongside 11,259.5 MW of planned maintenance, bringing the total outage inventory to 18,680.5 MW. The forced-outage list includes Wanakbori Unit 8 (800 MW) with a tube leak, Nasik Unit 4 with an ID fan issue, Chandrapur Unit 4 with a drum-level issue and Uran Unit 8 with vibration. The report distinguishes unplanned equipment failures from scheduled maintenance, providing a clearer picture of available generation capacity across the region.
The data illustrates how plant-level equipment issues can influence overall generation availability without necessarily indicating a broader grid reliability event.
