Our newest video is up 🤙🏻 this one was a bit of an odd one. We went from life as we knew it in the colourful and wonderful San Francisco, to a changed world in locked-down Greece. In both countries, we are reminded of our privilege, our appreciation in the small things and why it's never a good idea to have more than 4 people on Zoom!

Small drama at sea as our engine fails in the middle of the night. 100 nautical miles from land, we have no wind and are slowly crossing busy shipping lanes, with some fairly substantial container ships (240ft long with 4-mile stopping distances) ... Not ideal. Despite all of this we have an unforgettable passage, with turtles, dolphins, silky seas and even some wind... just when we need it. Kath's Mum (Jube) tells us about her Atlantic Ocean crossing in the 80s with Dame Naomi and Robert James. A 3,200 nautical mile passage they completed in a 53ft sailing yacht, from Newport Rhode Island to Cowes. Mum talks of humpback whales, 50ft waves, sailing under bare poles for three days and what it felt like to learn that the boat had a 90% chance of being knocked down.

So this week we finally did it. We actually left! Writing this from sunny Preveza and reunited with Caladh and her growing list of boat jobs – we couldn’t be happier! That said, our final week in Manchester was unbelievably busy and stressful as we tried to get two flats tenant-ready and, in the process, reduce our remaining worldly belongings and essential boat bits down to four pieces of inordinately expensive hold luggage and undoubtedly illegal carry-on bags. Phew! T even went as far as purchasing a Boots meal-deal to acquire a carrier bag to stash her extra illegal handbag in (worked a treat #travelhack).
