her parents died when she was six years old

she lived with her grandparents from then on in some suburbia in florida

until she turned sixteen and got pregnant, then they kicked her out

she found her way to a home for wayward girls, had the baby, and then proceeded to put it up for adoption

sometimes, when she’s feeling particularly sorry for herself, she goes to visit the baby at its new family, disguised as a baby sitter or something at the park

at the moment, she lives in a house that she helps pay for with occasionally honest waitress/bartending jobs and occasionally illegally obtained monies.

she lives with a bunch of roommates – more than should be allowed probably – but they’re all her family, so she’s cool with it

there’s nothing she hates more than kitchen/misogynistic jokes, so like. don’t do those.

her grandparents signed her up for martial arts as a kid, so don’t fuck with her

she races in the streets for cash sometimes, because it’s fun and she loves adrenealine

100% sleeps around with anyone, but is always safe about it esp after her kid. 

her most prized possession is a smooth rock her kid gave her in the park one time; it’s her good luck charm and it helps keep her calm sometimes

but she will fight people a lot and pretend nothing hurts afterwards. even if they beat her up.

a former beauty queen, rose was ready to win miss north carolina when she up and quit the pageantry circuit at twenty-three.

she was always a momma’s girl, always doing anything to impress her mother, but as with all stage moms, it was rarely enough and it left rose with a lot of pressure baggage

she’s a sweetheart, really, and she can be charming and friendly to just about anyone.

working in some kind of hospitality/customer service (bookshop? hotel desk?) is perfect for her because she loves talking to people and enjoys trying to make people’s days

the spencers of north carolina were rich as hell, so rose was pretty spoiled growing up. she lived on a big farm ranch with lots of farmhands and workers, had a horse of her own by the age of ten, and a whole room just for her closet.

so she’s pretty much slumming it in florida, but she and her mom had a falling out after she quit the circuit, so it’s safe to say rose isn’t privy to the family bank account anymore

found a roommate on craigslist. they don’t really get along but rose tries as much as she can.

the only thing rose has from home that’s worth any money is a charm bracelet her grandmother gave her in her will. it’s pretty freakin’ antique but it’s in great shape

her only truly marketable skill is basically needlework and various crafting skills she’s picked up since leaving home.

This doesn’t describe Rose as a person, but it does help shape who she is as a human being. A former beauty pageant queen, Rose has spent a lot of time in the limelight, because her mom insisted on it. Her childhood and teen years were spent with hairspray on her ass and a fake smile on her face

When she was twenty-three and getting ready to win Miss North Carolina, Rose had a bit of a mental breakdown. It was one of those things that was caught on camera and gossiped about everywhere in the circuit. So naturally, she had to quit, which her mom wasn’t happy about.

Despite the breakdown and the ones that happened after, Rose refuses to be kicked and kept down. She has no idea how to adult and has literally just started learning how to do anything, but she’ll be damned if she doesn’t try to learn okay. Rose is trying really hard to make moving away from home and working a small time job and surviving off her savings work but it’s hard but she’s not giving up.

Badass Driver 

Holly loves speed and adrenaline and will probably do virtually anything to get that high. It’s a high she learned when she was starting to drive, somehow managing to hit 100mph in some abandoned road so now, she likes to drive fast for no real reason in the flat geography of Florida.

Pirate Girl

"One of the guys” was always used to describe Holly, but she knows better than anyone that she’s not the only girl in her field. She does, however, have a close group of friends (that I’ll be requesting) who are kind of troublemakers together. They don’t really have any kind of regards for the rules or authority, so they just do whatever they want.

There’s a lot of stuff that happened in Holly’s past that she doesn’t like to talk about, but those events have made her want to push everyone and anyone away, because gdi she’s not in the mood to talk about feelings okay.
