This week the government finally announced their emergency support package to help save the theatre industry in this country 🙌 With no imminent funding on the horizon, it was facing devastating ruin and although they are not out of the woods just yet, it’s great to see the amazing people who have dedicated their lives to the craft finally given hope for the future. Many of my most treasured memories have taken place inside a theatre. It is a special part of my life, so to see such a wonderful and joyous art form in such disarray during these uncertain times has been heartbreaking. Charities such as Acting for Others, Fleabag Support Fund and Theatre Support Fund (who made this awesome t-shirt!) among many others have been, and continue to do incredible work to help aid the people without whom there would be a lot less happiness and creativity in the world. The government’s financial support plan is excellent news, but there is still a lot of work to be done and continued public support is still crucial. It’s time we gave back some of the happiness these actors, producers, directors, musical directors, band members, stage hands, technicians, front of house crew etc have given us for so many years ❤️ #theshowWILLgoon 🎭 https://www.instagram.com/p/CCY5MJehv-Z/?igshid=1nepzg52jcsav
