What the fuck was this guy going on about? What magical world did he come from, to believe there was actually equality in the world? His mood wasn't being made better, nor worse. If anything, Inuyasha was a bit dumbfounded. It felt like he was dealing with a great big idiot, even though he was definitely the bigger one of the two.
"'Cause happiness doesn't stay. That simple." He didn't need to elaborate to some stranger. Then he began walking away, though if he was followed, he wouldn't argue. No reason to. The guy wasn't doing anything wrong by being a total basket case.
Wouldn't understand it, but he wouldn't fight it unless given an actual reason to.
...Of course he was followed.
"Who the hell're you, anyway? I don't need t'be saved, y'know." His steps were a moderate pace. Not fast, nor slow. "But if y'need t'know my name, it's Inuyasha."
"So just because happiness is fleeting, you don't think one should feel it at all? What a bleak world you live in. I believe people should seek happiness, even if it won't last forever. It makes memories, happy memories to share with others. It gives life meaning. If you don't live to be happy-- why do you live?" Quinn asked as he trotted after Inuyasha as the half human started to leave.
"Ha? You think I'm sticking around cuz you need saving? You seem very capable of saving yourself. You got hurt-- and by means of someone else. And seeing as you aren't dead, it meant you fended off the attacker! I'm sticking around 'cuz I got a goal I need to achieve. Simple as that!" the clown explained to the dog demon and skipped at his side.
"My name is Quinn-- to answer your question of who I am. But your name is Inuyasha, huh? It's nice to meet you, my newest friend~!"

The full moon rises on the peaceful land of Japan in the Sengoku period, 1545. It is a time where there are no such things as the internet, technologies, or even electricity. It's a time of superstition and the supernatural, where demons and yokai roam in the same lands as humanity, and among them are the kemonogami, beast gods that have close ties with humans, but not all of them are welcomed. Though many exist, few ever live long enough to find the other half of their souls to grow together.
Even so, their existence often leads to rumors and superstition surrounding their existence, and shrines are erected to honor them. It is believed that they maintain a balance in the areas that they are more often known. These weaker spirits can still cause problems, and are very sensitive to the emotions of humans, and it can grant them power, or turn them into true demons.
The nearby village was unsettled. Recently, there seemed to be noises like roars coming from higher in the mountains, as if something was upset. Some assume it's a bear, others wolves, yet others blame it on the spirits. All know that it has left an uneasy feeling over the village. The Minase Shrine Maiden was preparing herself for a trip to the mountain shrine to provide an offering to soothe the spirits, in the hopes that it will bring peace back to the village.

Sesshomaru has come to an understanding with his place in the world. The weight of their father's shadow no longer hanging over him, no longer looming like a dark menacing shadow.
Now, he wanders the lands that he inherited from their great and powerful father. His territory extending silently to include the lands of Musashi and Kaede's little village where he left Rin to grow in the company of humans.
He had just come from visiting, checking on her and the others that he had come to silently accept within his circle. While he would not consider them 'friends,' they were at least familiar enough for him not to be so standoffish. His rivalry and hatred of Inuyasha lessened as he grew to see Inuyasha as an equal instead of a lesser being. His hatred of hanyōs dissipated with time as he stood on his own feet as a great daiyōkai.
Sesshomaru catches Inuyasha's scent in passing and diverts to cross paths.
❝Hmm, you look well.❞ His greeting is still cold, but at this point, it is more a matter of tone than actual malice. Not one to show what he considered to be 'weakness', he still hides his care under the guise of needing to appear 'strong' in a world of demons. However, the lack of drawn claws is an indicator of a more friendly encounter, at least to him. ❝At least, you're not dead yet.❞
A little brotherly jab. The barest hint of a smile settles on the daiyōkai's face. ❝Though I was surprised to hear you did not choose to remain in the village.❞
"lucky u forgot about sp.otify wrapped thingie again didnt u"

@thesilvermoonrays asked:
Rapid blinking.
"...It's got a name?" It did, 'Saffron', he only knew it as an herb that could ease wounds when mixed into a tea. "I thought the kinda people who name shit hadn't discovered this yet, this is pretty deep in the woods."
"I mean. I know 's got one, but I couldn't tell ya what it is off the top o' my head." Her grandfather had mentioned it once, when he was teaching her what herbs she could use in a pinch while out on a mission. It wasn't exactly what she had been looking for, but it would have to do for the moment.
With her head still half under the brush she had been digging around, the teen hadn't even looked at the one who she heard approaching. She'd assumed they had been drawn by the scent of blood coming from her torn ankle.
Being attacked not seconds after stepping through her Warp Ring had not been on her agenda that day.
"If I'd been smart. I woulda checked my first aid pouch before I got here, but I was in a hurry t' get goin'..." Harmony sat back, shaking out the leaves from her quills and looking at the handful she'd collected.
It would do.
But her gaze shifted to the splash of red fabric and began to raise. A quick glance at the scabbard at their waist, then higher. Long silver hair, tan skin, golden eyes, and...
"Ain't never seen dog ears on a human before. Are you a hybrid too?"
"Oi. While you're standing there doing absolutely nothing other than watching leaves in the wind, I'll do something actually useful, like catching fish."
Unprompted-In reference to me fining this yesterday ( ☾ ) ||Accepting|| @thesilvermoonrays
Inuyasha will make himself useful by fishing?
...
Why does he need to announce it, like he's expecting a medal for commendable effort?
You've come to the WRONG house, buddy.
Only Rin (and maybe Kohaku) can get the strict dad head nod of vague approval.
Go ask that of one of your human friends or Myoga, even.
"Do as you please."
