She’s running as fast as her weak legs and bare feet can go, and although she is buzzing with adrenaline, she is ready to collapse. So long, she has been fighting and she is exhausted. Going through Hell and climbing back out is no easy feat, for the body or the psyche.
As soon as she spots the man a short way down the street, she pushes herself harder- go faster. get to him. get help. In time, she might grow to distrust strangers (and who on Earth could blame her?), but right now, this stranger may be her salvation. Tears cloud her vision as she calls out to him, but her throat is dry and her voice weak. “Help! Please, help me!”
As she finally reaches him, her hands grab onto his arms, fingers gripping the fabric of his sleeves, seeking sanctuary. When she speaks again, the floodgates open and the tears in her eyes roll down her cheeks. “Please, help me.”

Fiona could hear someone talking behind her. The conversation wasn’t all that loud, no - this wasn’t the conversation. Maybe it wasn’t a CONVERSATION at all. No. This was someone’s THOUGHTS. Someone who had opened themselves up enough to be HEARD like this. Something in there TROUBLED her, something that was running through the person’s mind. She was never sure how to handle these situations, especially not in PUBLIC. Finally, though, she stood up and turned around, moving to sit across from the person. “Is there something GOING ON that you’d like to talk about?” The question was somewhat genuine, but she mostly just wanted those THOUGHTS out of HER head.
