For the record, Guo Tong wasn't trespassing. He was investigating.

He made great pains to remind himself of this as he pushed his way into the narrow slit where a wide wooden door once stood in the decrepit remains of the old temple he'd stumbled upon. 

Investigating. Trespassing was what he had to constantly keep his younger brother from doing - Tong was simply...Satisfying his curiosity for this strange place. Whichever god this shrine was built in honor to was anyone's guess; every statue had been broken and vandalized, leaving them utterly faceless and unrecognizable.
