I've somehow got over 100 followers on this little blog, so I thought in honour of that I'd make my first ever rec list! I've been feeling really crappy lately but awesome fics have helped to cheer me up, so I thought I'd make a list of fics guaranteed to make you feel better when you're studying, stressed or sick!
Fics for when you're studying
If you need a study break, here are some fics that will help you recharge but are short enough to keep all that awesome momentum you've gained! (Also good for busy work days!)
Not If You Were The Last Fake Boyfriend On Earth by Mirrorkill (8k) - One of Derek's ex-boyfriends is headed to town and Derek's not feeling inferior at all. ...yeah that's a total lie. He needs something to make his life look less pathetic and he thinks maybe a boyfriend would do the trick. Derek's willing to let the pack help out… but he draws the line at Stiles becoming his fake boyfriend. No way. Not even if Stiles was the last fake boyfriend on Earth.
The Tale of Beacon Hills Woods by chantelle82 (8k) - Derek is a tree that wants to be left alone. Stiles is the annoying bird that wants to make a nest in his branches.
Babcia Knows Best by thepsychicclam (11k) - Stiles takes his grandmother to bingo every Thursday. Now there's a new guy calling out the numbers, and his grandmother has decided to set them up.
How to be a Decent Boyfriend, a Guide by Scott McCall by keskasi (6k) - Scott is too busy for this, really. But they're so pathetic. Stealth relationship advice maybe isn't supposed to be part of the duties of an alpha, but well. Scott's always been an over-achiever.
Stumble, Tumble, Fall by keskasi (7k) - Stiles and Parrish are friends. And then Derek and Parrish are friends, and Derek is buying furniture from IKEA and calling the Sheriff John, and that's even more confusing.
A Swinger of Birches by drunktuesdays (2k) - The artifact takes him to a dark cave, one he hasn’t seen before. If he’d been back longer, gotten back in the paranoid mindset needed to survive Beacon Hills, that alone would have stopped him. There’s no part of the Preserve that he hasn’t ran through, no tree, no leaf, no rock he doesn’t know. He’s off balance and unready so he skids right into the entrance, stops only when the light on the stone winks right out. He’s turning to face Scott and Stiles, but there’s a rumble, and he has just enough time to throw himself to the ground, to duck and protect his head as rocks fall around him, the ceiling to the cave collapsing with a choking cloud of dust.
A Simple Life by Survivah (13k) - Derek plans to spend the rest of his life holed up in the woods after Laura dies. Then he meets a stubborn young fox, and the stubborn young fox meets an urn of Deaton's magic powder, and his plans change.
College: A Slippery (and Cuddly) Slope by keskasi (15k) - Being away from home sucks; Stiles just wants to make it suck a little bit less for himself and his roommate Derek. He maybe gets in a little over his head, but saying no to Derek is hard, okay?
Yarn Over & Pull Through by seraphina_snape (10k) - the one where Stiles discovers Derek has a YouTube channel and posts crochet tutorials... who knew crochet was so addictive?
If I Built You In Miniature by keskasi (6k) - Derek quietly loves Christmas and is not afraid to wear the sweaters to show it. He hosts a children’s TV show about science and history, builds model trains, and is painfully awkward. Stiles works in a Hallmark-type store that sells Christmas decorations and model train pieces, and might have an unhealthy appreciation for sweaters. Of course he was going to fall for Derek. Of course he was.
Safe at Anchor by Jerakeen (11k) - All hail Stiles, the Fixer of Wolves.
Crazy, Stupid, Love by toraten (13k) - After Stiles gets possessed and de-possessed, he falls into a depression. It's a time in his life he's not proud of. He's unable to help his friends who seem to have no problem getting on with their lives and battling all evil that threatens Beacon Hills, with a smile on their faces. , He's unable to do all the big things with his life he was expected to do. He knows there need to be some changes once he gets off of his anti-depressants: the sheriff and Derek think it would do him good to start working out, and since Stiles doesn't really have a good reason not to, he agrees. In which Derek is a terrible life coach, but at the same time he's exactly what Stiles needs.
Fics for when you're stressed
When you're stressed or anxious, the best thing to do is try to think about about something else, and obviously the best thing to think about is Sterek!
For Science by Grimm (36k) - From his textbooks, Stiles had gotten the impression that vampires had a weird, stretched out look to them — slightly too-long limbs and pale skin. This guy, though, he looked human, broad-shouldered and clearly muscular even under a loose sweatshirt. He wasn’t pale at all, his skin lightly tanned, hair dark, eyes pale. They narrowed at Stiles and Stiles froze as the man looked him up and down, clearly judging him. He must have passed the test, though, because the man kind of shrugged and said, “Take off your clothes.”
Introduction to Zero-Sum Anthropology by apocryphal (19k) - Stiles buys Derek a set of cooking spoons. Derek retaliates with lunch. The war begins.
Living With Lycanthropy by WhoNatural (44k) - AKA: The Sterek Rival Bakeries AU. Wherein they both own bakeries, Stiles tries not to run his grandmother's legacy into the ground, Laura wants to be a better alpha, and Derek can't seem to get Stiles' attention the regular way - so naturally, he accidentally initiates a prank war. (Or, if Teen Wolf was more like Gilmore Girls, with everyone far too invested in whether the Hale boy and the Sheriff's kid will work it out, and Laura Hale wrote a handbook for alpha werewolves.)
Crash Landers by gyzym (31k) - In which Stiles learns to Stalk That Stalk. (Or, how to accidentally woo your unfriendly neighborhood alpha in roughly five hundred handwritten steps.)

The Importance of Turning Around Three Times Before Lying Down by otter (31k) - It’s like this dog has walked out of all of Stiles’ childhood dreams and into the real world just because Stiles wanted it hard enough. He is the most awesome dog ever, and he and Stiles have a bond. A deep, unbreakable bond because this animal is his soul mate, obviously. Now he just has to convince the dog of that.
But, Doctor! by stilinskisparkles (30k) - “We had to splint a girl’s leg in a ditch,” Scott says excitedly. “Bro, you sound way too happy about that,” Stiles complains, opening up his bag and pulling out a Twinkie. Derek removes it from his hand silently and replaces it with an apple. Stiles scowls at him for a second then bites into it, regardless. Derek sits back and lets the group discuss the merits of dramatic lifesaving feats for winning over the ladies. Scott is convinced it’ll help impress Allison; Isaac thinks Scott’s a loser. Stiles—Stiles is falling asleep on Derek’s shoulder.
Murder, He Wrote by mklutz (31k) - And that was how Stiles accidentally became a New York Times bestselling author.
A Life Less Ordinary by Jebiwonkenobi (19k) - It takes a few years but eventually they manage to agree on something; Derek Hale is an asshole, and Stiles Stilinski is in love with him.
Fics for when you're sick
Being stuck in bed sick is really boring and time goes so slowly and the only thing you can really do is read super long Sterek fics! (Also good for plane trips, break-ups or avoiding reality.)
In Other Words, Baby Kiss Me by Primroseshows (61k) -Stiles has simple goals in life. To successfully complete his secret radar project without getting fired, to get a cottage on the Moon, and to untangle his mess of feelings for Moon Station 3 deputy, Derek Hale. Heck, he'll even settle for two of the three.
Famous Last Words by JenNova (62k) - All you need to know about this series is that the doc is titled "The Sex Buddy Fic". A series of 'made-them-do-its' which ended up telling a much bigger story.
Trust Fall by Stoney (144k) - Stiles is fairly certain that a case could be made for every bad thing in his life coming back to Peter Hale. This time it's pissing off a powerful witch, who retaliated by swapping Stiles and Derek a la Freaky Friday, because sure. That makes sense. Um, there are GPAs on the line, not to mention the whole thing where his dad wants to shoot Derek on sight. Except who he sees as Derek is actually Stiles, and Stiles did not sign up for filicide. Great. Wait...does this mean he's the Alpha until they figure this out? Holy. Shit.
With or Without You by KouriArashi (62k) - Derek thinks that the mating rituals are overly romanticized bullshit, but claiming a mate and defending them from challengers is something werewolves do, and his pack can't afford to appear weak after the fire. Especially not when Deucalion and his friends are in town for the rituals. Enter Stiles Stilinski, who offers to let Derek claim him so he won't be overrun at the ceremonies. Nothing goes as expected.
What I Did on my Summer Vacation by grimm (118k) - There's something weird about Beacon Hills that Stiles can't quite put his finger on. The way everyone in town knows his name the day he arrives. The way they insist the melancholic howling that echoes through the forest every night is just a dog. The way his dad denies getting a dog, even though Stiles comes home to find one sprawled across his bed, some big black thing whose eyes gleam red in the right light. The way that massive oak tree out in the woods vibrates under his touch, pulsing with sickly life. There's something weird going on in this town, and Stiles is determined to get to the bottom of it.
Kindred Spirits by Stoney (104k) - Stiles is the adopted son of the Sheriff, brought to Beacon Hills to hopefully stay for good. A family, a best friend, school, Jackson as Josie Pye (because who else could he be?) and the mystery of a dark haired, green-eyed boy which leads Stiles to discovering a secret within himself.
Safety in Silence by Survivah (67k) - It's perfectly understandable. Even Derek wouldn't want to be Derek's soulmate.
(Sacred) in the Ordinary by idyll (78k) - The Pack, after college, graduate school and the starting of careers, comes back to Beacon Hills. Nothing's gotten less complicated after all this time.
I've been thinking about this for a while and in light of recent events I've decided that it is something I need in my fandom experience, so...
What is The Sterek Haven?
A place for Sterek shippers who want to enjoy their ship without all the drama that generally comes with the connotations of the ship
Somewhere to find like-minded shippers and make new friends in a safe environment
we might have chats and other fun things, depending on what people want
Who will be accepted?
Everyone who:
is a Sterek shipper (obvs)
runs a wank-free, positive blog
has a tagging system
if you actually like Teen Wolf, that is a bonus
Ideally, I'd like for the network to be a list of blogs that people can look to when they want Sterek on their dash but also want it to remain a safe space.

anyone who posts ship-shaming/character-bashing/actor-bashing or other nasty stuff.
