We are thankful the storm that passed through yesterday was not as strong as it was forecasted for our area anyway. Today we only have to clean up some debris and put back some items we took down, including the shower/restroom tents, to keep them from potential damage. We brought the lone chick in the house and added it to the brooder with the two chicks that hatched from the incubator. One reason was because of the threatening weather that was approaching. Another reason was the two hens both thinking she was the mother and fighting over its care, and thirdly the attacks from the lone male Guinea fowl against the hens and the chick. The chick was limping probably from an attack or being stepped on by one or the other of the mothering hens. We noticed how they nearly knocked the chick over several times while they pecked and scratched hunting for insects. #weatherthestorm #stormyweather #thestormhaspassed #farmcleanup #hendrama #motherhen #babychick #scratchingandpecking #foragingchickens #morningroutine #farmlife #homestead #brooder #pollitos🐥 #poule #hühner #hühnerliebe #hens #hensandchicks (at Morning Glory Homestead) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMmtK99h2Qh/?igshid=mv5mp629pw27
