Self care is not something you can “achieve,” it’s an ongoing practice. I’ve had to rediscover self care as a vital thing in life that’ll solve many of the worries I have and not just a “cute” thing to do. I guess I thought I was good at it so I didn’t need to “get better” at it anymore but I was wrong. Self care will not only take care of the state that you are presently in but also take care of the child in all of us who didn’t get enough love and attention when we were little. Don’t let that child die because if you do, it’s like letting a part of you whither. I thought I could be “done” with self care and be “at the end of the journey” and let other people take care of me in an external way if that makes sense. Turns out I am still on my journey and always will be. You can’t just finish loving someone and expect it to last. We all need to be constantly nurtured. We all need to be our own: big sister, little sister, parent, hero, confidante, mentor, life coach, teacher, friend, and lover ♥️ xx The Style Aesthete #TheStyleAesthete #TheStyleAestheteJournals (at Self Discovery) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4_8alEh1Zo/?igshid=121pl1ec2kvh3
