I don’t know if this will mean anything or make sense to anyone. But does anyone else ever want to like… essentially do drag but playing around with their kintype/nonhumanity instead of gender

Like I want to do fashion and makeup that’s not really necessarily cosplaying my ‘types directly, but rather just exaggerating a specific part of my nonhumanity artistically. Not an every day casual look to bring euphoria/satiate dysphoria like wearing gear does but a whole performance about my identity.

I hope in the future gear and affirming body mods for alterhumans becomes more common to see.

I want to see nonhumans wearing their ears and their tails in public, to class, to events, on the bus. I want to see nonhumans with piercings in their face like whiskers, nonhumans with their teeth sharpened. I want to see tattoos used to mimic spots and stripes, scales and feathers, wires and metal, body parts now gone, and the scars that fictionfolk had a lifetime ago. I want to see nonhuman and alterhuman and ‘kin fashion and art and joy.

And I don’t even know what kind of other stuff we’ll come up with in our lifetimes to better express ourselves! I can’t wait to see!

Therians who make fun of therian kids on TikTok who haven’t done anything problematic.. my guy that’s basically your cousin LMAO like the non-alterhuman people are not gonna see you as any more normal if you call a member of your own community cringe.

Also I kinda miss my days as a kid on therian tumblr and instagram… everyone had their own “wolf pack,” people made collages of all the gear they wanted. Maybe it’s misplaced nostalgia but like.. idk just let them have that experience.

Alterhumans, otherkin, therians, fictionkin, etc., if you have talked about your identity to a therapist or other mental health professional, how did it go?

I mainly ask for myself since I’m hopefully starting therapy soon and these identities and community have been such a huge part of my life for almost a decade so like, I kinda really wanna talk about it at least somewhat lol.
