Stomach:Fun!/Silliness/"Wanna go cause some trouble?"

As soon as Theta touches him Loki’s fingers wrap around his slender wrist and tighten fiercely. For a moment he looks dangerous -- a brief flash of fire behind his eyes, a stiffening of his stomach and shoulders that suggests impending movement, impending harm...

And then the tension fades, the fire crumples back in on itself, and the god gently -- if pointedly -- removes Theta’s hand from his stomach, releases a relieved sigh, and regards the boy sternly. 

“Don’t... Ever do that again."

Theta sees Loki washing blood from his hands and proceeds to dump a bucket of water over Loki completely. If there's anyone who understands the choices we make that lead to bloodsoaked lives it's Theta Sigma.

Your character walks in on mine washing blood from their hands. What does your character do?

He's about ready to give his assailant the verbal lashing of the century (and possibly add a bit of blood to what already streaks his hands). But the sight of the young Gallifreyan stops him (as it was bound to do), and he blinks once or twice, and arches a weary eyebrow.

"...Is the fire out?"

He should be getting used to this, since it's happened several times now in the years that Theta and Loki have been acquainted.

He is not.

But at least this time -- though he is unprepared for the affectionate gesture -- his spine seizes less tightly, his gasp is not as sharply drawn, and it is much sooner that he releases both breath and tension and settles an accepting hand on the young Gallifreyan's shoulder, the faint impression of a warm smile tugging stubbornly at his lips.

He slowly arches an eyebrow and tilts his head slightly in warning as the boy levels the weapon. His lips twitch and pull back into something between a smile and a snarl, revealing the faintest sliver of white teeth. Still, there is no trace of hostility in his clear eyes -- concern, certainly, and no dearth of tentative betrayal -- but no hostility. And no anger. The time for that my yet come, but for the moment, Loki is more inclined to give his young friend the benefit of the doubt.

"Careful with that, Theta," he croons, his voice as dark and treacherous as shifting ice, "wouldn't want to hurt someone, now would we?"

His entire body seizes up, his fingers twitch, and he draws a sharp breath through his nose as the young Gallifreyan wraps him in what he suspects is probably a fond embrace. It isn't returned -- his arms hover somewhat helplessly on either side of his body, and he regards Theta with confusion and mild alarm -- but neither is it expressly rejected, as it soundly would have been were the boy not so close in his confidence. 

"Ah..." he croaks somewhat helplessly, and takes a short breath in a bid to try to relax. 

"Theta... I understand that you're pleased, but I think you might at present favor a more discrete means to express it."

Sliding across Loki's vision is a box of doughnuts. A familiar blonde time tot is pushing it thinking that Loki can't actually see him. So sneaky. So very very sneaky.

He has to blink a few times to actually register what it is he's seeing. But, mind and vision cleared, he seizes the wrist that holds the box -- firmly, yes, but with a lack of ferocity which seems almost incongruous with his outburst, and the signs of destruction around them. And then slowly... excruciatingly slowly, he turns his head to glare at the young Gallifreyan.

But he can't keep the slight softness from his features, and his lips twitch illegibly as he stares down at the boy.

"In three and a half thousand years," he says quietly, dusting his words with amusement in a coat so light that it is barely perceptible to the naked ear, "I have never encountered someone with worse timing than yours, Theta Sigma."
