It seems to me, that Robert Walser was an intelligent and highly skilled writer with a big heart. "The Tanners" were Walser's (1878-1956) first novel. The image's background is a part of Segantini's "La Vita". . Simon Tanner, 20 years, the protagonist, calls himself an idler. He leaves jobs after a few weeks, follows cravings, searching a place in this world. He finds clear words about the world, the people he meets and his own life, but he also questions himself. He's like a determined dreamer. His highest quality is his love. "I offer anyone my knowledge, my power, my thoughts, my accomplishments and my love, if they can use it." Simon gets called uninteresting, minor, but unquestionably he captivates everyone. And his evolution or non-evolution is the base of this book. . The novel is full of hearty monologues spoken to someone. The people all have a light, open and gusty behavior in speaking. Another writer called this book a fairytale, the only fairytale ever that is so close to reality. And I see that too. Next to the fact that I like Simon, Walser also had the skills to make me feel with unappeling characters like the brother Klaus. The amazing characters are so deep because they're never totally palpable. Every person has it's own mystery. . The end was gold for me. This is high quality literature that feels light and is deep. . #robertwalser #walser #geschwistertanner #thetanners #literature #classicliterature #bookstagram #instabooks #bookstagrammer #igreads #booklover #guyswhoread #gayswhoread #instagood #beautiful #photooftheday #visualsoflife #literatur #klassiker #leseempfehlung #suhrkampverlag #робертвальзер #семействотаннер #литература #букстаграм #классика # {unpaid ad} https://www.instagram.com/p/BvSBLbGA83G/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=fycp4j0yqfmk
