“I’m surprised myself Miss Kiki. You’re a strange one--not that it’s a bad thing.” He held his tongue, not wanting to give way that Kiki was a special person. If he dared utter those words aloud, the distinction between acquaintance and friendship would grow even thinner. Their frequent contact already posed a risk, despite Stanislav’s growing fondness for the wiccan at his side.
“I’ve noticed you tend to wear darker colours. It...suits you.” He stared on ahead, eyes searching the clearing as they slowly made their way towards the outskirts of the city. He much preferred it that way--it would avoid attracting unnecessary attention due to his affiliations.
“Dark blue...now that’s one I haven’t heard.” Stanislav looked to Kiki, slightly raising his brow before focusing ahead. “You’re correct. Grey is my favourite colour. It’s neutral, mute. It stands out, but not as much as warm colours. And it isn’t as dreary as cooler tones.”
The night around them was calm, dark, dimly lit though the elder vampire could see relatively well. Despite wanting to keep distance, he slowly closed the space between them; alert for any signs of danger. As he got closer to Kiki, her smell began to overwhelm him. It smelt sweet, warm, inviting even.
Suddenly, part of Stanislav wished he wouldn’t have agreed to this; that he would have gone to Red Rose to work. If he were working, he would be both focused and distracted, not having to deal with the complicated feelings that came to surface.
Why was it he felt this way? He’d thought he’d understood infatuation before, but this was different.
Realizing the silence that fell over them, Stanislav decided for now he didn’t mind. He was certain Kiki would ask questions or ramble, but he didn’t mind. In fact, a hidden part of the elder vampire hoped that she would. Admitting this aloud was out of the question of course, but he found himself glancing over at Kiki more than he liked.
“Haha I’ve actually been called strange a few times before though never as a compliment so that’s a new one” she stared up at the beautiful night sky admiring how beautiful the stars looked against the clear dark sky. Strange was the less of the harsh words that had been thrown at her by her peers. Though she was welcome to accept the term as something more positive for a change.
“Thank you I think they suit me as well” As they got to the outskirts of the city she felt as though it was just the two of them in their own little world. Nobody else around, the noises of the city far behind them it felt freeing . She looked pleased that she had managed to guess his favorite color. “Of course it’s grey how very Stan like into the more monotone colors. I think dark blue would look really good on you so maybe that’s why I thought of it.”
She felt him move closer and in that moment she allowed her hand to find its way into his. “So we...don’t get lost since it’s dark....” she muttered an excuse knowing he’d be able to hear her. His hand was cold but she couldn’t help but feel her own warmth spread to him, at least it was a nice thought. As they stayed in silence she took a moment to asses the situation herself. Standing here with a man who she obviously was having some sort of feelings towards, at night, all alone. Her mind couldn’t help but go back as much as she wanted to forget. She remembered going on walks at night with ‘him’ it was the one time they could be out in a public setting together without the worry of others seeing them. Hand in hand they would walk around the edge of the town and whisper sweet nothings to eachother. She didn’t even notice her grip had tightened on Stans hand “I’ve been in a situation like this before....” the words seemed to just slip out of her mouth.
