My accidental book haul. Last week I arrived at the library to pick up a hold and noticed it was fifteen minutes before the Friends of the Library bookshop closed. I figured I’d browse around a bit, maybe pick up one thing. But this ridiculousness happened instead. Congressman Lincoln is actually a gift for my dad (shhhhhhh) who recently got into an op-ed head-to-head our Lincoln’s congressional record, so that felt appropriate. The Tin Drum I feel like I’ve been looking for a nice copy of forever. I am a sucker for NYRB translations (especially by and of women), and liked the last Colette I read. And finally, I feel like my poetry TBR is getting small, and this caught my eye. . Seriously, thank goodness they were closing, because who knows what would have happened if they hadn’t kicked me out at this point.
