Let’s catch up...

Hey Goonsters! Nina here. I'm writing to explain some things about the show and to apologize for being MIA for so long. 

So as of the 100th episode Tooch is no longer one of our hosts. He left by his own accord so that he could focus more on his own personal work. This came as quite a blow to Nicky and I, but we respect Tooch's decision and encourage you all to follow his future en-devours.

Tooch's parting has been very difficult but Nicky and I have been continuing to produce and publish episodes, just not on the same regular basis unfortunately. We do not intend to stop by any means, though we do need time to restructure the show and develop new assets, so please be patient with us as we move through these growing pains.

Just saw Zootopia and really enjoyed it. It had a bunch of great characters, and I especially loved Judy’s parents. It also had more than a little social commentary, but it was done well, if not very subtly. I also really liked what it did with scale, especially the scenes involving tiny animals interacting with large ones. It also had some pretty clever referential and animal jokes, which you’d expect from a movie where all the characters are talking animals.

One thing that I couldn’t help but be reminded of, what with the main character being a police officer and the fox being named Nick, was Nicky from the Toon Goons podcast, and I believe they’ll be covering this movie soon too, so I look forward to that.

I’ve been listening to a lot of @thetoongoons‘ podcast lately while I do my art assignments and I couldn’t help but think of this situation every time Tooch (@miketooch) signs off. So naturally, I had to draw it out.
