I really don't understand why so many people who like mcr don't listen to the used, like they are so good! And they songs are soo queer! Bi Dean absolutely listen to Lies for the Liars for the power of Bert "Bi icon" McCracken, although I think Self Title and Artwork are his daily soundtrack.

hey, thank you so much!!! i’m really glad that you enjoyed the playlist, i had fun making it!!! tbh, i think about this a lot when it comes to the disconnect of the used and mcr in so many emos. and while personal taste and preference are gonna play a role (not everyone is gonna like every band in the same genre, and that’s cool), i honestly think a lot of the reason that bandom kind of sleeps on the used is because of the way things panned out almost fifteen years ago with the gerard and bert drama, which created a literal divide among fans in the scene. and with it all happening right at the time of the release of the black parade, aka, mcr’s biggest commercial success (as well as one of the biggest and most mainstream successes of the 00s emo scene), mcr more or less cemented themselves as *thee* emo band, both in bandom and beyond, making them far more accessible to people looking to get into the scene and genre since they just have more exposure. like everyone’s heard wttbp at some point in their lives, but unless you’re a fan of emo music, you probably haven’t heard a used song (bad taste, smh). it’s almost hard to believe that, at one point, the used was more famous than mcr (mcr used to open FOR the used!!!) but regardless!!! there are plenty of mcr and used fans (we have two hands, one to hold three cheers for sweet revenge and one to hold in love and death), and i’m glad to know there are a good amount of us here at the combination mcr, the used, AND supernatural :)

also, yes, you are right: self-titled is the album dean listens to in the dark impala and cries to through self-reflection, artwork is the one that he projects his relationship with cas onto, and lies for the liars is where he goes “i.....like men!??!”
