⋞⁘♔⁘⋟ Being dispatched to investigate the suspicious activity around the Disc of Cauthess was nothing terribly unusual. More often than not, the reports of peculiar happenings tended to be false claims of paranoid citizens. Regardless, they had decided it for the best to examine the region for rebel activity.
The meteorite’s crash site always felt eerie to Ravus, the way the crystals that protruded from it literally glowed - not to mention all the stories that circulated around the anomaly, declaring it tied to the deities, themselves. More than anything, he loathed the way he could feel the energy it produced. The neighboring regions used the meteorite’s energy for electricity, converting it from it’s natural form; but what was it’s natural state capable of?
These were the worries and questions that plagued Ravus as he stood beside one of the smaller crystals that protruded from the ground. It gave off an alarming sort of heat- how odd. Curiosity managed to get the best of the High Commander and he reached toward it. Only once did his metal hand draw back in nervousness, then he was moving to touch it once again. He had to know…
What happened next, however, was nothing he could have predicted. Almost instantly, it felt as though his breath were being ripped from his very lungs and the world had yanked him off his feet! He tried to yell out, but he was barely able to take in enough breath to gasp! The air pressure around him shifted, along with the surroundings. All he could see was a swirling palate of purples and greens, jolted streaks of energy running through it, while it felt as though he were literally spiraling through the air. He closed his eyes as nausea threatened, fear and uncertainty flooding him as he tried to grasp ahold of something- anything- but there was nothing.
Suddenly, the ground beneath him came into focus, but only because he was being flung directly toward it. His eyes widened, then he grimaced and braced himself, just as he made impact, then literally went tumbling across the dirt and grass, coughing and wheezing for breath. Rolling onto his knees, palms splayed on the ground, he finally stilled, panting.
By the gods- What the hell had just happened?!
