Well, I am from Europe, where almost every fucking country has its own language so it's only natural for us to learn (unless you're also from Europe so this explanation doesn't work haha). And also my uni is awesome like that, it focuses more on social studies, humanities and linguistics rather than sciences.

I dont have that problem, I have a VERY good ear. I test myself by asking people to tell me to say things in languages...
Well, I am supposed to have a good ear too, but I guess my problem is that I am afraid of failing miserably and making a fool of myself, so I don't try. Which is bad, I know, especially when learning new languages.
