Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right”or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!

I don’t like ranking things, so here is just a group of ten. The order is meaningless. I also consider a series to be a single work.
A Song of Ice and Fire Dunk & Egg novellas included
The Lord of the Rings The Hobbit included, but I’ve never read The Silmarillion :-/
Inferno by Dante Alighieri Not including the rest of The Divine Comedy because Purgatorio and Paradiso are just boring
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
The Works H.P. Lovecraft I can’t pick any single stories of his, because it’s not really any story that stuck with me, but his whole style of prose, imagination and language. He’s by no means one of the best writers out there but If not for him I wouldn’t be a reader today.
Outer Dark by Cormac McCarthy
I don’t remember the title of the book As a kid, my parents would read to me from a book of Greek Myths for Kids. I think that’s where my fondness for imaginative story telling started.
The Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood I only read this like a year ago, but I’ve reread it a couple times now and my appreciation of it just keeps building.
The Great God Pan by Arthur Machen
The Odyssey by Homer I had to read it in High School and loved it. I plan on reading it again this spring/summer back to back with The Iliad.
