I read the fuck out of a lot of Witcher fanfiction and a lot of it, while influenced by the show, most of the background comes from the books or other witcher media. What confuses me and not in a bad way necessarily just confused is how often the sack of Kaer Morhen is used as a traumatic life experience for our three favorite wolf boys.
But from what I can remember in the books and also the ages of the characters, Geralt wasn’t even born when Kaer Morhen was sacked. This also leads to cause some confusion because how are they able to continue making winters after that was sacked? Is that why they chose to experiment on Geralt? Is that when the weirder mages got involved?
In the books the reason the schools die out is because of after the betrayal of the cats and king Roland, they no longer have enough money and just fizzle out. Less dramatic to be sure but apparently the case? Anybody have any insight? Does having three of them adults/young freshly graduated which is just more dramatic and make for a better literary and to the school?
