Much like the New York original, people compete in pageants where they’re judged on glamourous outfits and dance moves. But, it’s also about banding together and making their voices heard in a country, Peru — where there are few safe spaces and no legal protections. LISTEN HERE.

BY ANTHONY FONG (FGJ ‘22) – There are two words that make a small community in Canada nervous and those words are “only doctor” – because what happens when something happens to your only doctor – especially when so many health systems are already dealing with understaffed emergency rooms and a shortage of family doctors? Vancouver physician, Anthony Fong was just that  – the only doctor on Fogo Island, Newfoundland and Labrador. He answered the call for a doctor and travelled to Fogo Island in July. And then what?
