The Wounded...

What is this, there’s a hole deep within. In time it will heal is what I hear now and again. Its depths are an uncharted wasteland , created possibly by another’s hand. This must close this gaping black pit, try to fill it with diamonds and gold try other materials but nothing upholds. to wound another in the same fashion might make this go away. No the nothingness would only grow, to feel more pain a deeper hole will show. If the eyes are the window to ones soul then this will engulf the mind and body undertow. If not closed soon in time bitterness will sow, resentment, pain, anger and hatred is all that will be known. How will this wound ever be healed, how will it ever go? It won’t disappear over night, only time, patience, love and kindness as prescribed medicine will close such a massive black hole.

Trailer - The Wound @ Sundance

Yesterday, 'The Wound', a South African film directed by award-winning director, John Trengove, premiered at The Sundance Film Festival. The film is co-written by Trengove, Malusi Bengu, and Thando Mgqolozana - the author of 'A Man Who is Not a Man', the book which inspired the film.

The film, which is bound to rouse conversation, stars musician and novelist, Nakhane Toure as an initiation school facilitator, alongside actors Niza Jay Ncoyini and Bongile Mantsai.

The South African premiere of 'The Wound' will be in July at the Durban International Film Festival.
